Default Harry Mann 68 Camaro L78 / L88

1968 Camaro SS. L78, M22 (service replacement) 4.10 rear (original) Island Teal / Black Interior. 24k miles. Mostly unrestored. Jerry MacNeish certified. Protect-o-plate, owners manual, manual bag, NCRS Shipping Data Report, etc.

Currently has 68 dated March 26, 1968 L88 CE short block w/ NOS ZL1 cam (casting 3935439) . L88 has original L78 heads installed, as well as carb and intake. Car comes with original L78 block 3935440 and rotating assy. with date of l-4-8. Block has been decked in a prior blueprint (TO320MQ). Deck numbers can still be made out. Heads are casting number 3919840 dated C 12 8 and C 5 8.

Transmission is 3925660 dated P8B14.

Differential is original to car (4.10 positraction) with original posi unit and gears dated 2 68 (Macneish certified).

Alternator (1100814 dated 7 H 2). Voltage regulator 1119515 dated 8 A. Original reconditioned radiator UN tag. Original reconditioned heater core dated 67 M. Water pump currently on engine 3856284 dated C 25 8. Also with purchase of this car, the original exhaust manifolds and (mostly complete) smog system. Starter is 1107365 dated 8 C 4. Distributor is 1111170 dated 8A23 along with Day 2 Roto Faze distributor currently in car. Horns, horn relay, pulleys, etc. are all correct and original to car. Also appears to have original over axle and tailpipes. An N.O.S. muffler, idler arm, and brake pads will be included.

F41 suspension with original spring tags. Power Steering and power brakes (booster dated 67th day of 1968) Master cylinder 5460346. Brakes are excellent with original calipers having stainless sleeves installed. Master cylinder has been sleeved as well.

All window glass (tinted) in the car is original to it with the exception of the windshield. Perfectly dated replacement windshield. Original windshield is retained and provided with car (cracked). Perfect original interior with Sun aftermarket gauges. All items on car work perfectly with the exception of AM radio.

I would approximate 50% of paint to be original. The hood appears to have been replaced. Hood, tops of front fenders, and blend into doors. All original body panels that are in EXCELLENT condition. EXCELLENT original floor pans and trunk. I suppose some would be willing to represent all paint as original but, I refuse to do that. I can explain what I see to validate my opinion on the paint.

Car is provided with 4 15x6 vintage American Racing wheels and E 70 15 Goodyear Wide Treads. A set of 4 XG wheels are included with the sale (no trim rings or center caps)

I have driven this car and it is tight. Drives straight like one would expect a 25k car to drive. Panel fit and gaps are what one would expect for typical factory production tolerances (nice). Engine is VERY solid and pulls hard. Transmission shifts and downshifts just as it should. Differential is quiet, just as it should be.

This is a great candidate to return to a "Survivor" status. Frankly, the is too cool in my opinion and is a hoot to drive in it's Day 2 configuration. Most owner history is available. Many other items about the car have been well documented from when the car was purchased from the second owners Mother (1971-1999). As of 2016, the original owner was still alive living in Southern California.

MCACN Day 2 Concours Certified Gold 2016. Judged 999 of 1000 points.

I am a serious collector who does not tolerate a lot of BS when it comes to the business end of things. I know what I have here. I am offering the car for sale for a reason. It is not a desperate reason by any means. This is not a fire sale. I will try to be to accommodating to serious interested parties.

$72,500

Serious offers considered.

Somebody is gonna get a kick butt car.. Hate to see you sell it but I'm sure the next care taker will cherish it. Wish it was me..
