Default What tires

Guys
Looking to upgrade the tires on my 69ss Nova .really like the look of the Goodyear polysteel but noticed a lot of guys run the BF radials. Clearly the GY or more from the period but not a radial. I have also considered the Firestone Wide Oval in the radial. What's your thoughts/opinions on this?

I don't think the Wide Oval Radial are being sold just yet, very soon.....

I am also interested, but not needed this year.

I like the period correct bias ply tires personally unless you are going to be really driving the car farther...

The new Wide Oval radials look really good though.. I do like those.. I would use those if your needs are for a radial tire.. I'm sure they will be pricey though..

Bary,

I think for as much you are going to drive the Nova, you will be fine with the Goodyear's. Will it be as nice as the BFG's?........................no.

I've been happy with the repo GY's on the cars I have installed them.

Give me a buzz if you would like to chat.

Tim

Personally, I like the looks of the GY Polyglass sidewall better than the Firestone Wide Oval. I'll be ordering some sets of the new Firestone Wide Oval radial for cars I drive when they come into stock which I think is around 2/17. If Kelsey does release a Polyglass radial I wonder how they will handle the size call out on the sidewall. Currently, the tire size call out reflects the bias ply nomenclature. Will the radial Polyglass use a radial designation such as FR70-14. The Firestone Wide Oval radial does have the radial size on them but it's not in raised white letters like it is on the GY Polyglass. If the GYs do have FR70-14 on them in raised white letters I won't be buying those.

Kelsey has no intention of doing a Polyglas in a radial. He does have radials, Polysteels, Steelgard, Eagle GT's, and Custom Tread.
