Default xt wheels

What cars came with the steel wheels that were the same size and dimensions as the xt steel wheels? I changed my 67 SS over to disc brakes and the original 14x6's wont clear the brakes. Thanks, Tim

IF code wheels are the same, I think they were used on Pontiacs(?) Someone recently said they found a set of later model (73 I think) wheels that were 14x7 from a station wagon or something... (who was that? ) What type of wheels are on your car now that don't fit? If they are a 14x6 with a full wheel cover, just get a set of 14x7 rallys and put the full face caps over them, no one will ever know the difference unless they are crawling around under the car.

The factory body color JK 14x6 wheels were on the car with dog dish caps so I cant use rallys. Just need a set of 14x7's that will clear disc brakes and "appear" stock to the average Joe.

IF coded wheels are the same as XT and came on my 69 Van Nuys RS/SS per the build sheet.

Sharp looking 68 SS/RS ragtop Lester. I think the steel wheels with the caps add alot to the appearance. Love the color too!

Thanks MR.T for the kind comment.A lot of people tell me to put the rally rims on it, but these are the original rims and for some reason I just love the way the standard hub caps look. And as it turns out, they are fairly rare with disc brakes.

Thanks for all the replies. I dont really care about the codes or what it comes off of since the wheels arent going to be correct for the car. Just any 14x7 that will fit over the 69-up disc brakes and look correct.

I got a set of IF's off a 70 Grand Prix. Late 70's Nova cop cars got 14x7's coded UC. The UC wheel centers are shaped a little different, the centers are a little flatter, have 4 bumps that hold the dog dishes on, and have about 1/4" less back spacing. They are the easiest to find though.

The XT, IF and JZ coded 14X7 wheels are almost identical. The XF is a 14X6 wheel. If you use the later model UC code wheel you will not be able to use the 68-70 caps.
