Default Help determining some block values

I recently obtained a bunch of bare blocks and plan on selling some of them. Wondering if any of you experts could help me put a value on some of them, they will be offered on this site first. I plan to keep one 854 1970 CE block for a future project and sell the other one. All the blocks will have been burned and honed and are standard bore. I am also wondering if anyone has the secret decoder ring to decode and explain the CE stamps. I am mainly trying to get educated on ce blocks. PMs are welcome.

Block # Date CE Code Displacement
1) 3969854 B 19 0 CE059200 402
This block has also been line bored.
2) 3969854 H 24 0 CE158634 402
3) 3899290 C 15 3 CE457889 402
4) 14015445 L 8 8(1978?) CES150920 ?

I have another 6 Chevelle and Camaro big blocks ranging from 68 to 73 that I will post later if I get any response to this post. thanks in advance

not too sure on the values. I would guess $500 each on the 70 CE blocks and $200 each on the others.

Another member here and I were talking back and forth. He just picked up a 1969 CE block and noticed that it had "T029" stamped on the bottom near the starter area.

I just looked at my 1971 CE block, which was cast Jan. 30 of 1971 and it has "T031" in the same area.

I am going to check out my 1974 CE block for my car when it returns from the machine shop.

Has anyone ever done any research on this? We are starting to think they were stamping the month and year when the final machining was done.

His would be February of 1969 and mine would be March of 1971.

Does anyone else have a CE block handy to see if theirs has the same stampings down by the starter?

Kurt
