Re: Funky copo craigslist ad
For years everyone laughed when people said there was a Z28 convertible. All it took was one GM executive to get the papers pushed through to get their car built. Maybe the Camaro is worth checking out.

Re: Funky copo craigslist ad
Every car is worth checking out. But the Z convertible was a documented car for quite a long time, no?

Re: Funky copo craigslist ad
The Z convertible was known about for a long time but Matt still makes a good point that back in those days anything could have been built dependant on knowing the right people and how high on the food chain you were at the General.

Re: Funky copo craigslist ad
I find that "they'd build anything" is a cliche that tends to be used by people to explain things that actually didn't happen.
There are RPOs and there are COPOs. If a strange car was built, it will have an explanation of one of those two orders. |

Re: Funky copo craigslist ad
In the mid 80's ,I would go to the Super Chevy Sundays, and tell some real Chevy lovers that I owned a 1970 COPO LT-1 Nova. Most would just smile at me with a twinkle in there eyes.
It's doubtful that this car is what it is, but if he has some real paperwork, you never know. When I hear about this car, there is likely a little twinkle in my eyes too! Peter

Re: Funky copo craigslist ad
And why Craigslist? If you have a car like he say's he has I would think you would get a lot more at a big auction.
Also no pictures and no mention of documentation. Steve |

Re: Funky copo craigslist ad
Cool story Pete!
The ad is gone now, somebody here? Another 'warning' from that wagonrider guy w/ the documented '68 Estes clone? Sounds too much like the lost Z16 ragtop also if true you'd think at least info indicating the car would've surfaced over the years? ~ Pete

Re: Funky copo craigslist ad
Guys, as Diego posted, the same person has almost the exact same ad up there now for a 1971 V-code 'Cuda convertible...."I will bring car down to Muskeogan on Power Tour " etc. It's a scam. Keep your deposits, you'll never see them again.
