Triple that...awesome car... and what you are planning on for restoration to its glorious racing days heritage. Mac Chevrolet from Crete was known for some COPO and the one and only one ZL1 sold in Nebraska through that dealership. I have collected a few Nebraska raced cars and this is definitely one of the "holy grail" drag cars raced from this area. Can't wait to see the finished pics when your done!

I knew I had something else to say... lol
I think this is your car, I have had these photos for quite a few years. The paint is SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT on the front fenders as far as I can tell...

I have no idea how I arrived with them other than the internet...

After finally getting in touch with Rich about a year ago, he led me to the current owners of my LS6 motor. Then after nine months of negotiations I finally went out to Maine and picked the motor up this past April. The motor is back in the engine bay and we are trying to stock pile some parts so we can get ready for the frame off.

My dad was good friends with Al and the service manager at Mac Chevrolet. Ron Taylor In lincoln nebraska could probably give you any imfo you wanted on that car. Your correct that it isnt a ZL1. Mac did order a new ZL1 along with so many other camaros to be able to get one. One of the camaros was my dads 69 z28 on the same transport. I was told when the transport arrived they pushed the ZL1 off and into the shop, pulled the motor, painted it black and put it in mac's camaro. You have a very neat historic car. wish my dad was still around to show him this...

I found this thread researching a car to post on my @6789Camaro Instagram page - more info on this COPO: http://blog.cars-on-line.com/2013/06...o-super-stock/

What is the current status of this Camaro?

Joe

Yes the wiring is there. The VIN is 124379N601701. The history keeps pouring in. I just received two racing programs from Corn Huskers Raceway that contain accounts of the 1969 and 1970 point race standings and winnings. The driver in 1969 was a Charlie Jacob and in 1970 was a Jim Hayes.

Rich </div></div>

The car was sold to a good friend of mine (J Bridgewater) in about 1970, and Jim Hayes drove it some of the time. (Hays may have become a partner, don't know) I've seen some other pictures of the car in about 1970-71 on other sites, with Bridgewater standing next to the car, with his name on the side (and another name) (Mac's was removed or overwritten on door) They(he) may have only owned it for a year or two. I heard a while back that Bridgewater may live in Colo. now.
Another friend had an L-88 (dealer bought short block &amp; heads (Hulac Chev Omaha) that could have ended up in the Camero, but don't know for sure)
They were all friends of mine from HS. (except Hayes)
