Nice looking car. I wonder why they didn't put the cover on the bell housing. Also, should the tach red line be at 6000 instead of 5500? And did the L78 come with a M20? I'm no expert on these things, so I'm trying to learn more.

----Add says AM stereo. Whats up with that. As well it states that the trans is an m20. Not what I would have imagined. A few red flags for sure......Bill S

I think if you look close you will see the orange shading on the tach starts at 5500rpm...and the redline comes in at 6,000.

M-20 was the base 4 spd...these cars came with a HD 3spd unless the 4 spd was ordered...the date stamp listed for the trans has an "A" at the end which denotes an M-20. by the way, you could also get an M-21 or M-22 as an option.

There are lots of little detail items that need to be fixed, but nothing major that I see at first glance, except for the smog system is missing. I didn't see anything about paperwork, yet they have a pretty extensive list of options. I would want to see the car prior to restoration to verify the options.

It is a great color and a sharp looking car...you couldn't build it for that price.

Thanks. I don't know why, but I thought that the standard transmission for the L78 was the M21. There are many tings that I thought were true that I'm learning were not true.

Yes, the color and many other things about this car are very nice. I would love to have it.

Seller claims that the VIN stamping is not on the pad but the suffix is as well as a date code, He also states that it is an L78 but can not say its a "born with drive train" Sellers says that he goes by dates not VIN on driveline.

Has anybody seen a 69 or 70 L78 Nova come from the factory with an optional steering wheel?
