Funny thing about that GIF....McQueen is actually in Reverse and is backing up in that scene, not going forward! So a little creative editing! And yep...Bullitt wasn't a Traction Lock.... open rear!
Another intertesting thing to note, that engine stand in Mikey's garage picture was photo shopped in. Under that crude cut- in is the Ohio clan with one hand on the hood and another holding their drinks!! I'm telling ya...... it's true!! Cheers Dave |

Oh, you laugh Dan, but I suspect you're the one holding that camera! Or maybe it's Sam....
Moving forward with cleaning up the rest of the parts, I came across a few date coded stamps on the pedal assembly. Nobody will ever see them since they face upwards, but still....I know they're there (English 101 lesson: there..and..they're... used correctly in this sentence..sound the same, yet both mean something different..... it's all about phonetics here at Yenko.net) so I did some strategic blasting in the cabinet to keep them. Decreasing the transmission uncovered several more. It's really hard to believe markings this large were on the parts originally! Stay tuned for more finds.....like my ratchet that's still missing!! Been doing some detective work while feverishly blasting parts! I lose my big shop here within the week, relocating to a smaller, rental one, in preparations for the move next year to the new crib in the backyard! With that, I lose my beloved paint booth, air compressor, and with that.... blasting cabinet. So I'm blasting all the parts I need to and will refinish them in the new place. My heater box exploded on the stairs, so I figured I'd blast all those parts. Meanwhile, packing and packing....and I found my ratchet!
Motor mount markings, wiper motor markings, date code on the Jack matches my build [jack date coding started in 1967, interestingly enough], and now I'm shipping out the radiator to Bob at Glen Ray who did flawless work on my Super Bee's, so I think he can handle a tiny Mustang radiator! I've gathered up the engine parts and will be dropping all that off at the builder and the transmission heads to a local toploader specialist as well. Based on all of this stuff, I should be on the road in about.... oh....4 or 5 days from now. I'm going to send the carburetor to Eric. Then I'm off to play the lottery so I can pay for all of this stuff! I'm setting up a gofundme account called "TheYenkoSuperDuperStangatang". Donate what you can! Out in the sun in a day or so when I move it! More to come! Cheers Dave Last edited by A12pilot; 12-13-2017 at 12:30 PM. |

Personalized plate:
STANGATANG :-) Is it pronounced st-ang-a-tang, or st-ang-a-tan? Ryan W.

Let me expand on that, Ryan. According to the Book of Super Dave, the definition is as follows directly from my Commodore 64 Processing brain : Stangatang: n {stang~uh~tang} 1. A classic car that is based on a Mustang that seems to devour money at a rate equal to an Orangutan eating bananas.
All parts are blasted, and all boxes packed. Time to move, but feat not! Updates will be forthcoming in the temporary new digs!!!! Cheers Dave |
