Default 1967 camaro bench seat car

Is there a list of break downs for options like the purple book on chevelles but for camaro ?I had an interesting talk with a guy tonight saying he has a 67 camaro that was only one of three built so my interest was piqued and I asked for some info . He said it is a 396/325 ss rs bench seat column shift turbo 400 car with traction bar and fold down . White gold interior out of Boise. Said they must of only made 3 BB bench seat cars as they only made just under 300 bench seats in 67. Neat car and I hope to see some pics but how many bench seats was built in 67 and in 68? I am not sure I have ever seen any #s for that .

Heck, I know of more than three L78 bench seat cars.

In either case there is no definitive breakdown of what cars came with exactly what options. Considering the rather large list of options in 67 you could make quite a few cars 1 of 1 or one of three. Chevy only has total production numbers, for example they know that in 67 there were 6583 total bench seat cars built, 17993 folding rear seat cars and there were 4003 L35 325 horse 396 cars.

When playing the percentage numbers game against total production it is pretty easy to sway numbers any way you want to. For example, my L78 is one of the 1138 L78's built, based on percentages there should be around 128 ragtops built so 1 of 128, add in that it is a deluxe parchment interior car and we can make that 5% of those or so (rough guess, likely less) so we are down to 1 of 6, add in tilt 6% now we are down to 1 of 1 already. Add on top of that the RS, PS, PDB, 4.10's, bumper guards, Bolero Red, and on and on and we are down to a car that is undoubtedly the only one ever built. In short it can get nuts fast.

I am pretty sure he just thought the one in 3 was BB AT bench seat . I have never seen any production #s on how many bench seats were made but I knew there was more then 300 ,even in BB cars . I had a 68 bench seat project car once and have 2 bench seats right now. I agree about playing the option percent game the total can come out in all sorts of ways . Thanks for your info
What other options does yours have ? The 67 I am working on now is a RS 327 car with tach gauges tilt speed warning remote mirror interior and exterior trim package factory gold on gold deluxe but not sure it will stay gold . I plan on adding the 12 bolt and disc brakes .

There is all kinds of information out there, some correct and some not, so he may very well think that there were only three made, other times people take information passed along to them by people who did not have their research done.

Sounds like a heck of an RS you have there. Personally when Granada Gold is done right I think it looks great and the deluxe gold works for me as well.

On mine, it is a 67 RS/SS L78 ragtop, M21, 4.10 12 bolt posi, Bolero Red, white top, tinted windshield only, deluxe white interior, console, gauges, PS, PDB, AM radio, rear antenna, tilt wheel, bumper guards, deluxe belts, interior decor group and a few others that escape me at the moment. June will mark 20 years that I have owned it and have been able to trace it back so far to the third owner. With any luck it will be finished off with a fresh 100% correct resto and at Carlisle next year.

I dont know how rare they are? I have a seen a few throughout the years. I know of an 1967 RS Deep water blue light blue standard interor bench seat 4spd car with fold down rear seat. Last year I saw a Tuxedo black 1967 L78 gold standard interior bench seat 4spd.

I really have seen some very nicely done gold cars but its not a color that fits my taste but if I had paperwork and original motor I would be tempted back to original colors . I forgot about some of the other options it has bumper guards and deluxe belts
.Yours is nicely optioned

Back to the bench seat I have only seen a handful around here and none have been BB cars so I was really hoping the guy would stop by like he said so I could find out more but I have not heard from him .
Thanks for the info and if I hear anymore I will pass it along.
