I have two cars with original alts. one Canadian built on the 5th day with the alt. stamped on the 3rd. day.....the other is 3rd. week with 21st day stamped, so these are a lot tighter than you may think. I'd go with what you have. my 02 cents worth.

Thanks Mr70. I am watching it. I was told by a very trusted source that the one I wanted would be fine for my car. With that being said it’s never a bad thing to have a couple different options so I will be watching this one. The nice thing about the other one is that it was already rebuilt and ready to put on for less money. Let’s hope it works out.

Thanks for the great info Shaun. That is definitely great info. I did end up getting the one I was asking about. That info you gave me just solidified what I was told by Dan my chevelle go to guy. Thanks again

My 69, which I ordered and still have, was ordered with the K85 63 amp unit. Shows that on the build sheet and the window sticker. I didn't discover until a few years later that the car was built with the standard 37 amp unit. Still trying to find a 63 amp.
