Default Richie Zul's Z-11????

At the '67 or '68 Rod & Custom show at the (then) N.Y.C. Coliseum, I saw a '63 Impala Sport Coupe on display with a sign in front of it stating it was Richie Zul's Z-11. There's also a photo of it in one of the early magazines. The car was part of a display of Motion Performance cars. I've been trying to track down information on this car for Rusty Symmes and myself to determine if it was really a factory Z-11 car. I've contacted Joel and he says the car was not sponsored by Motion, nor was it a Z-11. Joel gave me some old numbers to try to get in touch with Richie, but neither Rusty nor myself have been successful.
Since I see a few members here were in that area back then (well, maybe not that far back, since the year of inquiry is not the mainstream of this site), I thought I'd ask if anyone can shed some light on or about this car. (it was black on black)
Rusty has been helping Mark with the definitive book on the Z-11s, and it would be nice to have this car included, if in fact it was factory built.
We have absolutely no information on this car what-so-ever, other than it's presence in the Motion display at that show. Any help would be most appreciated.
thanks,
Verne.

Verne,
If it is (Mark) Ascher you speak of then never mind but if not, you may try getting ahold of him as his has done a ton of research on these cars. Let me know if you need his contact information.
Rick

Yes Rick, That is the Mark I referred to. I already know how to contact him, but thanks. It's information on Zul's car that I'm trying to uncover in order to forward it to him and Rusty.
Verne.

That's the "ASSASSIN", right? I've got the same picture in one of Marty Schorr's (Former editor of Hi Performance CARS) old books. Marty is still around and started writing more lately, plus he keeps extensive archives, so it might be worth dropping an e-mail to him for info on the car or the people involved. He's a contributing editor to VETTE magazine - or at least freelanced to them in the last year for the article on that cool '67 Vette sponsored by Motion.

Yes Tom, that's the car. Thanks for the lead to Marty. I also just did a search on Richie and it looks like he has a business in NY building race engines for boats!

Thanks for the FYI, COPO, but there just isn't a chance I could make it. I sure will miss the drags!

Joel told me the ASSASSIN was not a Z-11. It was a 283 Impala that was very quick and set many records. It was owned by a good friend of Joel's and is supposed to be coming out soon as an Ertl diecast.

If we assume all that is true, (and I'm not doubting it) then what is the explanation for the sign at the NYC show which said "Richie Zul's Z-11"?
Wishful thinking??
I'll have to dig out the old magazine with the photo of it in the display with a caption.
I was hoping someone on this board might have actually been close to this car back then, in a touchy, feeley kind of way. The car may have originally been a 283 car, but I have to wonder what was under the hood when it was raced. If my memory is correct, I believe the car was lettered as a Modified Production.

Verne.
