1969 Camaro Z28 Shifter Rods
I recently took out my shifter rods and noticed my levers were stamped 5615 on both rods. I looked up those numbers and they were installed on 1970-72 Camaro Z28,s .My Z28 is a early September built car. Would it be possible that the 5615 rods and levers were used on my car since it was such a late built car ? |

Re: 1969 Camaro Z28 Shifter Rods
Does your car have a 660 or 661 trans case ?
What's the rear end casting # ?

Re: 1969 Camaro Z28 Shifter Rods
The trans is a 660 and my rear end is early Sept., but the transmission and rear end are not original to the car unfortunately.

Re: 1969 Camaro Z28 Shifter Rods
the levers then may be replaced....late 69's used 661 cases which are designated as 70 units as are some rear end castings designated 1970. In most cases the car has both the later they were built. I was trying to link the 70 levers to the original trans and shifter.

Re: 1969 Camaro Z28 Shifter Rods
Well if I were to get the correct rods and levers would I also have to change the mounting plate on the shifter?
