Jack Douglass 435hp Corvette
Jack sold a bunch of Hi-Performance Corvettes. Here is a 435hp Tri-Power with 4.11s and a close ratio M21 Trans, running back in the '70s

Re: Jack Douglass 435hp Corvette
Timeslips that the owner had at the Mecum auction showed best times in the low 14s at U.S. 30/Gary IN. He admitted to having no prior experience racing. The usual culprit was no traction with the skinny 775s.

Re: Jack Douglass 435hp Corvette
I tried to buy the car but his reserve was too high.

Re: Jack Douglass 435hp Corvette
Chris,
I believe that the last bid was 80/85K. I stopped bidding at 65K.

Whats with the interior code on the trim tag?

Re: Jack Douglass 435hp Corvette
The interior code was 414 but the tag read 14 as the first 4 was missing. I believe that it was a real tag inspite of this error.

Re: Jack Douglass 435hp Corvette
Rick, the car needed a complete resto and was missing lots of parts like the tripower, hardtop, OEM tires, exhaust etc.. The seats were ripped, it had a 65 front surround installed. The good things about the car were original drivetrain, real paper, and trim tag which is more than I can say for most 67 435s. If I could do the resto myself I would have bid higher but since I cannot I would be looking at upwards of 100K to have it done.
