Default 1970 Chevelle Vinyl Top Question?

What is the correct way to do the windshield pillars on a 1970 Chevelle with a vinyl top?
I was told they get overlaped, but I know a friend that has a unrestored 1968 Chevelle SS that he's owned since new and it has no overlap!
Thanks! John

I never saw one with no overlap but depending which plant the car was built they did not all do things the same. I have seen most with vinyl from the roof laping on top of the pillar vinyl and seen a few with pillar vinyl laping on top of the roof vinyl.
