Default Having fun with 69 Chevelle

I have been tinkering around on the 69 Chevelle. Paint is starting to shine. Have been through several steps. Clay bar, Meguiars 105, 83 and now 7. Paint clearly is not stellar but for 40 years old not so bad

Looks sweet, I should give that kind of once-over to my '67 GTO.

For rough paint like the Chevelle had the steps that I take
Wash
Clay Bar
Ultra Cut Compound
Cleaner Polish
Show Car Glaze
Wax
Some of these steps may be redundant like clay barring then compounding, but I just like to get as many impurities off the paint with the clay bar before the buffing wheel spins on the paint. I am sure more experienced guys here can chime in on a better process seeing that I am just a garage jockey
On better paint I have just clay barred and went to the cleaner polish (83) then to show car glaze (7) and had really nice results.

I tried one of these Eagle1 surface prep mitts last winter on some 40+ year old lacquer paint, and I cannot not say enough good things about it, actually I was amazed at the results.
Much easier and much faster than a clay bar.

I like Eagle 1 products. They are inexpensive and I think they work very well.

I use their quick detailer regularly. It leaves a nice shine and has a good scent..

I have a similar product from Mother’s that was given to me. You use it when you wash the car. Have not used it yet but plan on it.
