69 camaro l78 5 leaf ID
I'm trying to understand what is correct, these are the original leaf springs that came with my car, the small leaf in the pic was mounted on the bottom before I had them re-arched. The second spring after the top spring does not have the dove tail. Is that an aftermarket helper spring? is it suppose to be there? Is the little spring at the bottom considered he 5th leaf in the stack? If you guys can straighten me out on this, very appreciated! thanks Rich

Make sure the spring stack fits the spring pocket of the axle ... TAZ

Yes I understand that it has to fit in the pocket, the question is , is the second leaf suppose to be there or was it added as a helper spring ? And the little bottom springs in the second pic suppose to be in the stack . When I received the car they were all in the stack so it essentially had 6 leafs when counted, I'm just trying to find out if that second leaf is common to big block builds or not there at all? I would think someone on this site must know a bit about these springs. Thanks
