Default Original ZL1 Motor???

I hope this isn't a duplicate post.

Has anyone seen this yet? It appears to be from Reggie Jackson's collection.

Is this the correct engine for car #61?

[/ QUOTE ]

no

here is their statement:

"This motor came direct from GM ...It is a complete motor with new ZL-1 holley carb to the oil pan....Produces "450hp" more like 550hp, and runs on race gas. The motor is very light in contrast the the cast Iron unit. We think it is about three hundred pounds with 450 pounds of torque.......All new from the inside out and has run and was intalled in a car #61"

That means (to me) that this was bought over the counter, ie "This motor came direct from GM"

the carb is "new", not sure what it was bought as, maybe a long block? " ...It is a complete motor with new ZL-1 holley carb to the oil pan...."

regardless, it is pretty clear the way they worded things that this engine NEVER came IN a car ... even though at one time they had installed it in #61 for some reason

however you can install it in your "car, truck or suv" and they will even do it for you ...

Here is a link to the rest of the Xmas offering they have, interesting mix of neat stuff:

I sent a second question to the seller to ask him to clear this up for all of us. The first question I had asked if he knew the owner of ZL-1 #61 and he replied to my question but did not answer it...

The ad is very misleading. I find that sad coming from someone who can afford to sell it at fair market value.
