Default Cowl Panel to Fender Alignment

We all see a lot of 69 Camaro's out there - some fit great at the fender to cowl panel and others do not.

What is the secret to getting the windshield side to properly align with the top edge of the fender etc??

Is it in moving the lower windshield molding?

Original production parts or NOS? There are many fit issues with some of the NOS fenders that's for sure.

Orig parts is something I'm working on for a customer.

I find it difficult to get the top of the cowl panel lip near the trim to sit even with the top of
the fender edge. I moved the trim clip holes down to force the edge of the panel down but
seem to help only a little.

Making sure that everything is square.
THE 4 holes - 2 in the cowl with the plastic plugs and the two in the rad support are for a "squaring jig" which is used because the hood is captured at all 4 corners - most hoods have a non-captured edge and this edge is not critical for alignment, thus making the other 3 edges easier to align.

Do you have the foam wedges glued onto the bottom of the cowel in the correct place?
