As you have found out, it is getting tougher and tougher to find a shop to work on the "old" cars like we have. The old techs are getting to be fewer and far between. Unfortunately I don't know anyone near you.

How much of the work, if any, can you do to help cut costs? Also there is HUGE satisfaction from "turning wrenches" and "running a DA sander".

bcmiller, thanks for the post.

when it comes to paint/body, we personally unfortunately dont have much time or expertise. im open to having the sheet metal work done one place and the paint another, as long as they were both reputable places.

also, unfortunately ive been known to be a bit of a DA, but not sure what a DA sander is

Kasey,
I talked with the bodyman here, and he could take it for you if you can't find something closer to you.
He's open right now, but may get busy with something else if he gets someone else's car started on.
Post some pics of the problem areas or email them to me at: 60swrench@ att.net

How about the restorers on our site? Supercar Workshp, Aarone, etc.? Charlie had his red '67 Z/28 sent somewhere a couple of years ago, maybe he could chime in?
