Dad is as stubborn as I am........ (Tenacious) so he pulled all the caster shims out of one side of the upper control arms and stuck them in the other side to exaggerate the following effect.... Nope.

Then two of us stood on the front end and he used Rachel araps to pull the suspension lower closer to ride height.... No joy.....

Pushed it back inside and waved the white flag for tonight!

Bummer.

When I had my drag car's front end aligned, they put a whole bunch of shims in the rear of each upper control arm.
Whenever I let go of the steering wheel after making a turn, the wheel would nearly rip out of my hand to return to center.

Sometimes you can make friends with the local tow company, and offer them cash to move it when they don't have any service calls or priority work. Should be able to get a break and they'll move it with a flatbed. That's how most mechanics get their huge toolboxes moved.

I used to do that when moving my last project car around, for $75 it wasn't worth going to get my friend's trailer, hook it up, winch the car up, bring it home, then go return the trailer.

You have to be able to lock the steering box to temporarily fix the front wheels into a non-steering capacity. Without the column/steering wheel in place, that is hard to do. You can try wrapping chains around the drag link/idler arms to limit movement. Otherwise, without the body weight to force the wheels to follow their caster settings properly, it will fling the front wheels in either direction.

Flat towing sucks. I did it when I was 17 with an old GS and almost ripped the bumper off when the front wheels crossed up during a turn. On Lankershim Blvd, in the San Fernando Valley, during rush hour. You can almost picture it in your mind....
