1968 302 engine value
i have a friend that lives some distance away who has a 1968 Z-28 302 engine. it was supposedly freshened and run for a short period of time. it is supposed to run excellent though and i know he would stand behind it. it has been in his heated garage for 5 years. i believe it is complete from manifold to oil pan. i don't think it has the correct carb and pullies though it might. only potential problem is it is bored .060. i believe the car it came in wasn't the correct car and is long gone. what do you think. i'm tempted to buy it but don't really need it. i think it would be fun to put in a early body foe a Z-28 clone with a stick and 4.88 gears. thanx mike

Re: 1968 302 engine value
thats what i thought. i'm assumining its on its last rebuild. i have no experience with the 302 engine. to me it would just be a novelty. the .060 makes me nervous as i'm sure i'd be twisting the little sucker with 4.88 gears. mike

If you are comfortable with price you could put it in a car and have fun, or part it out.

Re: 1968 302 engine value
could it possible go .070 over? i'm assuming it would require custom pistons. i think i could get the engine for about $3500. thanx mike

my 69 pace car 350 started going through coolant out the exhaust,i pulled it down and there was a small pin hole in one of the cyllenders it was 060 the guy at the machine shop talked me into new sleeves without loosing the numbers on the block,he told me at 060 the walls were thin.
