Default 1970 Olds 442 W30 - 4 speed post coupe

1970 Oldsmobile W30 Sport (Post) Coupe
For sale is 1 of 142 W30 sport (post) coupes with 4 speed manual transmission (which received the radical 328-degree duration cam). One of the baddest, rarest cars to leave the Oldsmobile factory. Making this car even more unique is that it was ordered with a bench seat.

This car is documented with three broadcast cards matching the Fisher body number. The broadcast card shows the W30 option, A52 (Front Bench Seat), and U80 (Rear Seat Speaker), as well as an original color of Burnished Gold. A previous owner who completely restored the car elected to paint the car black with white stripes (basecoat/clearcoat), and the car looks awesome as a result.

The car has documented history back to 1982 with copies of titles, pictures of the full restoration, and a written history. The car had a complete frame off restoration completed between 1994-1996, when it had approximately 76,000 miles; the restoration was published in Journey with Olds (OCA magazine) in February 1999. The odometer currently shows just over 81,000 miles.

Engine
Block – Service replacement correct F-code block (no VIN), date code is day 298 of 1971
Heads – Correct F-code heads (404438) with 295 date code
Intake Manifold – Correct 406115 early W30 aluminum manifold
Carburetor – Correct 7040256 Quadrajet, 3072 date code (service replacement)
Distributor – Installed in engine is 1111289 (incorrect – 1968 455 distributor), car comes with the correct 1111977 with 0D22 date code
Water Pump – Correct HD cooling 404847 “X” code, with correct KM pulley
Exhaust Manifolds – Correct OEM W/Z divided manifolds

Transmission
Original VIN-matching M21 4 speed

Rear Differential
O-type rear, SH Code, 3.42 gear with limited slip (per the documented history, a previous owner removed the original rear to improve driveability, it was likely a 3.91), W-27 cover added during the restoration

Body/Exterior
Original OAI hood, correct 1970 “flat ridge” fenders, OEM red inner fenders that are in very nice condition
Trunk wing added during restoration using OEM part

Interior
Rallye pack gauges, sport steering wheel, Hurst shifter

General Condition
As mentioned, the car was completely restored in the 1990’s. It has been well maintained and remains very presentable all around. It is not rusty, and is a great car to either drive or show. Since the restoration is over 20 years old, it does have some signs of use and wear.

Asking Price: $55,000 or best offer
