Re: I had to take a ride
[ QUOTE ]
Yes Joe, It is definetly what a man needs! [/ QUOTE ] ...and some women too I have been using that form of "therapy" since I started driving. As a matter of fact, that (going for a ride) is what I was doing when I met my husband. "People livin' in competition; all I want is to have my peace of mind." ~Scholz

Re: I had to take a ride
[ QUOTE ]
[/ QUOTE ] When my son was just about two I took him for his first Camaro ride. Strapped his seat into the right rear and off we went. Down on my favorite stretch of road for speed running I pulled the Th-400 into 2nd and buried my foot. The L35 roared as the Q-jet's secondaries drew in as much air as possible and the non-stock, ancient twin-turbo (stock tailpipes) exhaust roared its beautiful song. Shifted into Drive at about 70 and at about 90 I let off. As soon as I did my son yells: "AGAIN! AGAIN!" Man, talk about a great moment! |

Re: I had to take a ride
When I take the L78 out I try to get my 6 year old Daughter in the back seat to hold on to the headrest for as long as she can as I "agressively" row through the gears, then I get the obilgatory " Burn Rubber Daddy" cracks me up everytime, although Momma's not too fond of the whole thing...

Re: I had to take a ride
Your wife will get used to it. The person who is going to be in trouble is YOU if your daughter has oil for blood! She will be burnin the rubber soon in YOUR cars!

Re: I had to take a ride
I have tried to convence my wife that hopping in the car after a bad day at work is better than going to the bar and works for me better than a shrink!! Spinning wrenches is also considered good for the soul!
I have a picture hiding out of my son hopping in behind the wheel of my car before I took out on my last big road trip before I got the trailer. I was so excited that I forgot to throw the boombox in the car. 750 miles from KC to Detroit is a long way with no tunes, but I was able to hear that motor hum and tires growl!! The speedometer was not needed after a couple of hours!!! This last fall, my son and I took a little ride in the car and we were testing the coeffiecent of friction between rubber and asphalt. It is tough to remember when I have seen a bigger smile on his face... and mine!

Re: I had to take a ride
as long as there is no salt on the ground, every sunday I take at least a 40 min ride. I'm going into the garage tonight to put the Winter jets in. I need to do the valves also..but don't have the time tonight.
