Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
Chief,..straighten out some confusion. I thought the first generation TransAms,.67-70, were the last with the 400 c.i., Ram Air III and IV. The 70 1/2-74 TransAms(2nd Gen like mine) I thought were only available with the 455HO, and later the SD. Am I wrong?

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
As far as F bodies go '67-'69 birds had the 400 motor as an option, '67 had a Ram Air I option, '68 had Ram Air I and II option, but only the '69 Firebird and Trans Am had the Ram Air III and IV option. In 1970 only the Trans Am could be ordered with a Ram Air IV. '71 and '72 only came with 455 H.O. , no other motor option availible for those two years.

[ QUOTE ]
[/ QUOTE ] The photo above reminds me a bit of the photo's taken in the movie "The Omen". If the picture is correct (diagonal line going through it)...the car has already been destroyed by the powers of evil.

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
Not true. Because the diagonal line also passes thru a second car (in the background) and this second car is of a FoMoCo lineage, this would have a cancelling effect. So we could assume that the car may still be on the prowl.

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
It would look terrible in any barn especially Charley's that car needs to be stored be in the desert to preserve it for history. Besides Charley already ruined that 69 TA convert. Look at the pictures they forgot to install the steering wheel. Talk about a trailer queen? LOL

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
FWIW, a friend of a friend has a "no miles"(other than what came off the transport '72) TA. He went as far as pulling the window with the sticker out of the car and storing it safely away, to preserve the window sticker. He installed another window in it's place and now the car sits in climate controlled storage while I try to devise a scheme to make it mine.

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
Is that one a RAIV? Mine is a 70 RAIV Cal. car, with 33k miles. A full resto is planned, some time in the distant future.

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
That's one beautiful car. You're a lucky man.
I'm thinking of re-painting my car back to the factory colors(white/blue), but many of the good body/paint shops are scared about the project because of the black underlying the blue stripe and the trickiness of blending elastic into the paint for the endura bumper.
