The build date given would have me lean to the F70-14 Polyglas RWL no size... some will say that Polyglas were never on Camaros.... After April both Chevelle and Camaro were seen wearing Polyglas instead of Speedway Wide Tread... we have not seen any documents from Goodyear to GM, but here we are with several cars that have had this set up... give me a call...816-654-3400

I'd put RWL F70-14 Wide Treads on it...not Polyglases.

COPOs not equipped with COPO 9737 used the same F70 x 14 tires standard equipment on Camaro SS:

Goodyear Wide Tread F70 x 14
Uniroyal Tiger Paw
Firestone Wide Oval [small white letters]

Only the Goodyear is reproduced.

As of April 1, 1969 FG Belted RWL tires [PL4] became optional. The only documented COPO built with PL4 still retains its original Firestone spare. White and red stripe tires were also optional.

At this time, there is no known 1969 Camaro built with RWL Goodyear Polyglas tires.

The Wide Tread GT was standard on the Z/28. It is a 15" tire. Not available as an RPO on the Camaro SS. Only as COPO 9737.

The Goodyear Wide Tread F70x14 RWL is being reproduced:

No Polyglas. Put on a Goodyear Wide Tread raised white letter. If someone tries to tell you they used Polyglas ask them to show you one documented car.

I contacted Mr. Kelsey and he is trying to pull up some of the research that he did on the Polyglas in GM lines. There is not a letter to be found stating the date in which Goodyear stopped shipping the Speedway Wide Treads for use as an OE tire. We know that the parade cars for the Indy 500 had Polyglas except for the early build cars.... We are putting phone calls in to see if some photo evidence is available.

FYI... the 69 Trans Am wore Polyglas.

Excuse me.

Should have stated "Wide Tread F70 x 14" which was one of the standard equipment Camaro SS tires.

From the May '69 Car Life test of an L78 Camaro SS.
