That 65 Goat is the one car you should have kept. Was your neighbor mad when you sold it??

Illness forced the sale ... Stroke/ Heart Attack .... Thought My car days were over, I still have a few.

Neighbors wife passed away shortly after they sold it to me and Husband is not doing good at all. I do not see them as they were neighbors of a home I own as rental property.

I was wondering why you sold it too-but your comment about health reminded me those decisions are yours to make. I'm glad you found some more car days-and you look to be rebuilding your inventory nicely. Good luck to you.

I am sorry to hear about your health, but glad to hear you still have a few more car rides left in you.

The part about the vehicle paint is pretty funny -

We've had two GTOs with paint that bad, both out of the Pontiac Michigan plant.

Our '64 was an embarrassment, with the paint coming off in flakes. Dad wanted the factory to repaint the whole car but our salesman Dick Jesse didn't think he could swing it.

They made a call to the factory rep, who also suggested Dad stick a piece of masking tape on any of the places he wanted repaired. Dad wrapped the whole car in tape, probably two rolls of it. The ended up repainting the whole car.

Our '65 has spots in the hood where you can see handprints; the trunk lid has an area where it looks like solvent was swiped off and the paint sprayed over it (a retired Pontiac paint shop manager has since told me that is from pressing down too hard with the tack rag, imbedding the solvent in the primer). It also has the requisite hairs in the paint and poor panel fitment.

All of those defects are still visible, just as when new.

Hello keith , We have spoken on the Pontiac site awhile ago.
I think it is great that the original owners of these cars kept these notes for everyone to read.
The original owner cried when he sold me the car, But told me he had to sell it or it was going to his 16 year old Grandson and that was the last thing he wanted to do!
