Default Mander chevrolet L78 68 elcamino in long storage

I am a new member to the Supercar registry but have been a viewer for years. I just recently purchased a car from a very good buddy and thought it would be good to share it on the website. It is a 1968 elcamino that was originally ordered and purchased new at James Mander Chevrolet in North Vancouver ,BC. The car was in storage for 27 years and has 55,000 orig miles, orig paint, orig drivetrain. it has the original bill of sale and protecto plate and a few misc. bills of oil changes ,tires, headers, etc. It has red exterior, black interior. ss396/375hp L78 , m22, power disc brakes, f41 susp. , 3:73 posi, roller tach and guages, wood sport steering wheel, factory trailer hitch, shoulder belts, headrests, buckets and console. The car was stored in a climated controlled garage on jack stands and

i have been in contact with all 3 previous owners .

Cool ride and welcome aboard Stephen! Nice drive train. Is the M22 what was ordered new on the car? Yes - please, more pix!! Love to see original documentation too.

P.S. seeing your tow tabs, I'll bet this car hit the drag strips too. Any history on that?

Awesome find! I worked at Dick Irwins, which was formerly Manders and a lot of cool cars came from there!

Welcome aboard Stephen and congrats on your VERY cool Camino!
Lots of Mander fans here on the site but we'd all love to see more of your L78 car also paperwork.

Very Nice. I like the front seats. Up until recently, never cared for the tuck and roll, but it validates the time capsule and mileage to me.

The rally wheels would have to go.

the rally wheels are gone, i took them off right away, it now has vintage American Racing torque thrusts that i have owned for 40 years(i collect all vintage american racing wheels), the rears are custom widened to 15x9 3/8" and the fronts are 15x7, tires are 275/ 60 on rear, 215/ 70 on front

...yes , that is a real hemi cuda in the background( not mine)

Americans look great! At first glance I thought those were some old Fentons on it....Love the look of those on 68's!
