1970 Chevelle wheel wells
HI guys, were the metal washers with the little pressed out center area for the movement of the plastic wheel wells painted black or a light gray color? I have 3 nos ones that are gray, plus I've seen gray cup washers on a Camaro that was restored. Thanks.

I have seen them grey phosphate or dipped in black lacquer (more common). Some plants sprayed the inside of the wheel tubs with sound deadener which would cover the washers anyway.

The Cupped washers were different for Metal inner fenders as seen on the left which I have seen Black or Gray also with some oversprayed with tar. Also pictured is a sample photo of an assembly line Plastic Fiber inner fender. Post a photo of the NOS ones you have as I am curious to see them. Thanks.
