Dave 67 Nova Boy </div></div> Decided not to. I'll save the $500. I'll hit the chassis dyno to dial it in. I'm told the 530 mark should be an honest number |

Re: Tim Schuetz;s (NAPA68) not so stock 1967 Nova!
I've kept hammering away at the Nova this weekend.
Scuffed and repainted the engine............ Installed the gauges in the radio delete panel Installed a different master cylinder, adjustable proportioning valve, and ran new brake lines..... Did the final install in the new clutch master and linkage......... Just gotta tidy up some wiring and wait for the headers and misc parts to comeback from the powdercoater. |

Re: Tim Schuetz;s (NAPA68) not so stock 1967 Nova!
Was just reading up on your recent changes to the car Tim. Just curious but what oil pump you were running? A lot of guys run high volume high pressure pumps and they are very hard on bronze distributor gears. I just ordered a new billet roller cam for a build I am doing right now and have been warned by a few friends to run a normal oil pump with standard volume and pressure. That alone is supposed to really help limit the wear on the bronze dist gear. I guess I'll know when I start changing the oil a few times. Motor is finished up this week and can't wait to run it. Gonna order up one of the Mac's Tilters.
Looks like your having fun anyways!

It's just what the engine builder prefers for this type of application. I did speak about the whole pump versus gear discussion. In short, he asked me if I'd rather change a dizzy gear as opposed to a cam. No real good way around it. Certainly, big valve springs do not help matters......... We will see. Should have it running in a few weeks or sooner! |
