Since we are talking about missing musclecars how about ROTTING MUSCLECARS? This example a 1970 LT1 is rotting around the corner from me,the owner says he is going to fix it up,That was over 5 yrs ago when i asked him if he would want to sell it.He since filled the tires with air at least LOL

Maybe it is just me but I have found it has gotten worse since they started seeing the auctions on TV. At one time when you tried to go to the door and ask they would either let the dog out after you, scream no it is not for sale or not answer the door. Now I am finding most want to talk and tell you that car is worth 50,000 are you willing to pay me that if not get off my property. This past summer I pushed a 70 chevelle SS body I have had for a while outside for maybe a month while I did some wiring in a new garage. Within a week it was so bad with people coming to the door my wife begged me to hurry up and put it back inside. They seen one 70 go for over a million and think anything with a cowl hood is worth the same. |

I have another car 2 blocks from me,its a 70 torino gt with the cobra in the grill,I asked about the car 3 yrs ago and got to take a look at it,its a 429 cobrajet,has the snake with the wheels doin a burnout on the front fenders after the wheel,also on the rear trunk there is a snake whith the wheels.Its a 4 speed and the tires are sunk in the dirt about 4 inches and its actually laying on the ground.Pics soon but only from the street.Anyone else have a rotting musclecar in the neighborhood?
|
||||||||

Not a mainstream musclecar, but a neighbor of my father has a 70 Mercury Cyclone with it's original 429 drivetrain. Tried to buy it a couple times years ago, but he never wanted to sell. A few years ago, he got so sick of people knocking on the door, he built a 3 stall garage and moved it inside. Sat outside for at least 20 years, so it is in pretty rough shape. It's all there though. |

There is a 1968 Chevelle SS396 sitting near my parents house. It has been sitting since the mid 80's and the last time i took a look at it there was a tree growing though it. The story goes that the engine blew up and the owners pulled it out but that is as far as they got. The rumor is that there is a fresh 396 sitting in there garage. Why the car is not inside the garage is anyones guess. |

I just came home from Long Island for the holidays. I took the train into New York one day, and from the train I saw quite a few nice 60s cars sitting rusting in tightly packed storage lots, and behind buildings. It really is sad. We don't have that type of thing very much up here in Maine, but one day I was out driving when I spotted this. 67 SS in code M royal plum paint and black bench seat interior. The house looked deserted so I decided to poke around a bit. Under the rotted hood sat the numbers matching engine, complete up to the air cleaner, and inside, all the four speed stuff is there up to even the original boot and knob. Only options were tinted windsheild and 4 speed. The plates were last registered in 84, and it is currently sitting on the crager rims, all 4 tires are rotted. The body is suprisingly great, with no rot in the doors, fenders of quarters, just the hood. I hate to see it sitting there uncovered!! I've knocked on the door everytime I go by, but nobodys ever there, so maybe I should check with the town office on the status of the place. Until than, it will sit through the rain and snow. I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon, unless that anywhere is in my garage! ![]() See the attatchment Steve |

If the house is empty I suggest you find out very quickly who lived there and try to get into contact with them or a relative. I have been no pun intended burned twice over the years when faced with a similiar situation. First one was a factory 65 impala 396 4spd by a deserted house I kept driving buy until some kids burned the house down and the car with it. Months after I seen a car with out of province plates in the yard and dropped in. Original owner of the car passed away this was his grandson who would have given me the car if I had of contacted him at the time. He just wanted the properly cleaned up so he could sell it. Second one was only 5 years ago. Out hunting I found an original 70SS 454 conv complete in a shed, very rusty but complete. House empty. This time I started to ask but obvious too much. Guy next door told his chevelle bud who in turn just went in with a wrecker and took it. It was totally parted out within a weekend and nobody ever came looking for it other than me. Good Luck |

I agree, its terrible that the Chevelle is dying over there. I drove by again today and it was covered in snow I went to the town office and was able to get the peoples names, but no phone number. I think I will just keep driving by until I see a car there, and maybe I will luck out one of these days. Its just all the little things about it that amaze me. The fact that it's been sitting on a fairly busy road for 23 years and nobody has taken anything from it, not even the shifter ball or air cleaner. I know there arent many more cars like this just sitting outside neglected, so I just really want to get it before anything worse happens to it.Steve |
||||||||

You should try using "google.com" to research those names for an address or phone other than Maine, maybe a summer home. Wait to long and someone else will hook up with it.They may even have mail forwarding, check with the Post office. |

I am in the heating and cooling business and spend a lot of time driving around the country side in the area and everywhere I go I see all sorts of forgotten muscle dying of cancer. I'd be willing to make an attempt to get it. The ramp going to the door is all dirt and rock. "Should" be able to just hook a strap up and pull it out. Most of those structures are well built and solid until the wood rots. Not uncommon to see buildings like that in the area. All stone shells, wood is long gone. Looks like they already braced the retaining wall on the ramp. Well, somewhat braced. Any idea who owns it? |

How about some real early muscle - ![]() - With drivers such as Herb Thomas, Marshall Teague and the Flock brothers Hudson Hornet dominated stock car racing in the early 1950's. The true sting of the Hornet came from the powerful 7X racing engine. Developed by Marshall Teague and Hudson engineer Vince Piggins, the big six had a bigger bore, bigger valves, relieved and polished combustion chambers, high compression head, high performance cam, split dual exhausts, and "Twin H-Power" carburetors and manifold. This combination boosted the big straight 6 up to 220 gross horsepower, a jump of 75 horses over the showroom stock figure of 145. All the stock components made the Hornet nearly untouchable on the track, and a record setting 27 wins out of 34 starts in major stock car races in 1952 was proof! - The Hudson was on the block behind this old station - - ![]() - With all of this - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - |

This '68 GTO sits on the outskirts of town outside of an old repair station. Everyday the owner drives it out of the shop in the morning, then back in at night before he closes. Other then that it never goes anywhere. The inspection expired in 2/89! The paint is falling off in spots but the body looks remarkably straight and rust free except for some minor rust spots on the drivers side. The interior shows the effects of a mechanic getting in it every night after a long days work! I'm sure he has plans for it................someday! Found this 67/68 ? Cougar XR-7 on a back road over near Atglen today. It was sitting for quite some time out in the woods, as the full glove box will confirm. Shame, its an a/c car with the fancy dash with all the gauges and toggle switches. - - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - - There was a man coming out of a building next to it when I pulled up, and he told me it was his sons car. He had gotten it from an old man who had worked for Ford and had a few of these and when he bought a new one, he just parked the old one in the woods! We got to talking and he told me he restored cars, would I like to see what he was working on. We went inside the building, which he later told me was where the Chalfont automobile was produced from early 1900's until the first world war. After that it was a Buick dealership. I went inside expecting maybe Mustang's or Camaro's but found something quite different. Inside were a couple of Rolls Royce's, a boattailed speedster (I believe he said it was a '32 Packard) and much more. The man was an artisan, the craftsmanship was unbelievable! There was a Chevy Woodie he had rebodied that was fantastic! He had cars there that he was hand making body panels for. It was amazing to find this level of craftsmenship in an unmarked building out in the middle of nowhere. - - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - |

I may have posted this before,but here goes.This one has been siting since the late 70's.It doesnt have a rust hole or a dent on the entire body,only surface rust and a few very small dings{Oops,it has one shallow dent on the passenger side door}.The interior is dry but still smells musty,but doesnt havfe a rip in it.I would add a carpet kit and a paint job to this thing and it would be a good driver.I popped the hood but didnt take a picture.It had the original 400 and it was 100% complete.The odometer reads less then 50,000 miles.It is parked alongside a Soda outlet and the owner of the outlet says that it is his brother's car and he bought it new and isnt interested in selling it because he cant find the title.He had been offered good money for this car and shrugs it off.He pulled out a list of names and numbers of people who came buy looking to buy it and showed it to me and I knew half the names on this list and they are all Pontiac collectors like me.He said that if it were ever made available he would call the names by order on the list and if he got to me I coould have it.Knowing some of the names on the list I might be afraid of what I was geting if they all turned it down.I think the car will rot where it sits even if it takes another 30 years to get there.Here it is. ![]() 1970 Fromula 400 ![]() Last inspected in 1979,notice this is a NEw Jersey sticker on the passenger side.Thats OLD! \ ![]() ![]() The rubber nose is MINT,not a crack on it and only original paint on the whole car!! ![]() Interior needs a rug because this one is moldy ![]() Here is the money shot.A factory 12 bolt with a sway bar and posi tag.Yup,this is the real deal. |

Strongly suggest pulling the intake on that Chevelle and look for evidence of critters in the valley area before you hit they key to try it. Maybe even go through the entire engine and check out any and everything. Friend here paid major bucks for one of Bergers original Z28's that was in the middle of complete resto a few years back. Don't know what possessed him to pull that intake, but was sick when he found the chipmunk Hilton in there. Fresh rebuild on a very big$$ car. Needless to say he was sick about it. Then a racoon got inside it while up on the hoist. Not sure what that did. |

Ahhhh, a future numbers matching 409 car for sure! An original 283, so the VIN is for a V8 car! Stop by and grab the VIN and cowl tag info just for the safety of the future of the hobby! I can tell the car was built after Jan. The gas tank on the floor is from an El Camino and I see a heater blower motor delete plate on the floor. Black on red.......just what everyone wants!!! Thanks for thinking of me. Someday, all that info will be passed onto SOMEONE after I'm pushing up daisys...

------Verne,,,Look closely at that bubble as it appears to have been white originally. Agree that it will probably become more than it is. Actually I think it would be more fun (although less return) to make it an authentic appearing 327/300, 4-spd. Maybe add a 62 Vette injection unit and 30/30 cam to the mix. Chrome reversed wheels and cheaters on the back. What do you think???..........Bill S |

Not yet a musclecar (some say no Corvette is)and probably the least desirable years for the Corvettes, but we dug this out of a garage yesterday where it had been sitting since the early 90's. Was perfect when put away then, (too many tickets, lost his license), probably wouldn't take that much to put back. But, original owner was just moving it from the house he sold to a new one he bought. Probably sit another 15 years. Tons of offers when we were loading it up by people driving by (Woodward cruise weekend, you could sell anything around here this past week)...but he won't sell it. Thinking of having a "resurrection" party this winter in my garage sometime this winter. We get really bored here in January/February. Kinda fun to bring one back, but must be done right. ![]()

While looking for some photos for another thread I ran across these in my archive. These are vintage photos from the driveway of the guy I bought my 70 hemi Charger from 20 years ago. He passed away in a tragic accident last year. I cant recall whether it was a 454 or 396 in the El Camino but it was an unrestored car. Behind it under a tarp was an original 1970 L78 Camaro (probably with an automatic ). Also in the yard was a 1969 hemi GTX with 17,000 miles. Colin recently acquired this car and sold it last year. Inside the garage was a 65 or 66 Sting Ray with a 327/365 horse engine. A friend of his has that car now. The Firebird had some bizarre 70's panel mural paint job. I dont recall what the drivetrain was, but knowing him, it was probably an SD455 as he didnt have any "normal" cars there. He had cars (including a 69 COPO Camaro) and engines all over the place. I'm sorry I didnt take more photos at the time.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Looks like that Corvette was an old gasser. I see a solid front axle under it. What a crime. I recall a 1954 Kaiser Darrin in high school that was butchered to have a 283 Chev drivetrain installed. Very fast but what a waste of a very rare car. Nice conversion, but ragged to death by the second owner and junked. |
||||||||
|
|
|||||||
|
Negative on the straight axle, the Vette was in stock configuration, just painted up wildly. I think it was sitting high because the motor was out at the time. |

Here's something more recent. I was traveling to work the other day and saw this sitting out during someone's garage cleaning, I guess. I stopped to say Hi, but the owner wasn't around. Original paint, 70 Mach 1. The dash completely out and it looks to have been that way for a long time. Not registered since early 1980's. Vin code was "H" 351 Windsor 2-barrel. Amazing shape for its age with only some minor rust bubbles starting in the bottom of the quarters. ![]()

Saddening pictures of a 1970 GTO convertible. I have know of this car for 10+ years. Nothing has been done other than rotting away. The woman said her dad bought it for her when she was 15 and she is now 40. Her dad has since passed away and she can't bring herself to sell it. It is Cardinal Red, white top, black cloth bench seat interior, column shift, power windows, standard 400 4bbl auto. Does not run. The front valance is beat up from when it last ran then broke down. The tow truck driver hooked to the frame through the valance grills. ![]() ![]()

------I believe that this Corvette may be the remains of a very rare remodeled Corvette that a guy in Miami named Bobby Rautbord had made in low numbers called a Finovette. Initially, his idea was to build a car that would complement his line of boats built in the Magnum factory called Finos. The boats were beautiful. Ive been trying to aquire a good one for years, but there were only about 30 made and they are extremely hard to find. The Finovettes were nowhere near as successful and I have no idea how many were made. Probably in the single didgets. This one appears to have had the nose replaced as well as the rear wing that was originally inbetween the added rear buttresses. The treatment right behind the side windows is the giveaway. I have never seen that anywhere else. A very forgetable modified Corvette with at least half of it gone anyway..........Bill S |

Garnet Red, parchment interior, auto, consoule, 8 track. original motor/trans came with car. will be restored to stock specs there were 4 sheds where this car was stored. each shed was around 100 yards in length. i would estimate 30 or so cars on each side of the shed totaling 60 or so cars per shed. the storage owner didnt want us snooping around, however when the owner went back to the house 3 of us sprinted to the back of the shed and power walked looking at all the cars that had been there in "long term" storage. everything in there was older than 1975, it was an amazing power walk! |

One of 10 Canadian built Pontiac 2+2's with the 390hp 427/4 speed combos. One owner car with 31000 original miles. Unfortunately the car sat on a dirt floor in a damp garage for years. Here's one for ya! I think it's an honest to goodness real Z/28 (even though you can see the bumper guards are missing). Guess I'll never know. I first talked to the guy 15 years ago, went up to the door and asked if I could just look at the car, no way! You could see the guy is a real piece of work, no teeth, wife beater T-shirt, but hey, I give it my best shot. The guy gets mad, says he's tired of people bothering him about it. 15 years later, it's still sitting there. So I'm accross the street, with my whole family, taking this picture and the guy comes out and starts yelling at me, and starts heading over. His wife runs out and grabs him and drags him back in the house. I did figure the guy out though. He gets his enjoyment from the car by denying it to others. Doesn't really care about the car (obviously, it is literally falling apart). That's just his thing. Not the smartest guy around, but hey, whatever turns your crank, huh?

Chris I don't remember a Camaro with that moniker but I do remember a Vette with it. The Vette in the far lane was driven by a hot big haired blonde (who had a big biker boyfriend) in the mid/late sixties. It had a green custom paint job, multi color, panels, etc., and that saying on the left rear under the back window. Her and the car were both hot regulars on the Franklin Ave - Sunrise Hwy. street racing scene. She was a few years older then me, and I remember her name was Pat. I don't know if she calmed down and moved from the wild Vette to a more subtle street car or if that's someone else. Back then we raced EVERY day & night - not the wild 1/4 mile runs on the Conduit or Connecting Highways but light to light stuff. Super hole shots - powershift second - and by the time you were in third it was heavy brakes for the up coming light. It definitely got you adrenaline pumping! Glenn Look at the amount of people in the stands - its cold out - everyone got a jacket on, its just Sunday racing and the stands are loaded. You go to some heavily advertised summer events these days and don't see that kind of turnout! - ![]() - |

It would not surprise me if that were a match. She was telling me this story in 1975 and she was blond and in her mid 30's. I believe she had mentioned an ex (boyfriend or husband) that ran a 68 black charger. She was from Uniondale and then Rockville Centre. thanks Glenn!

Thanks. I think the alt in the back is a 834 and the pulleys and distributor are 66-67 if I remember right. A 12 bolt posi carrier didn't make it into the pic but he threw one of those in as well. He had a really junky camaro and a rusty nova (I got another parts nova from him too) but his Mopar stuff was really nice. Hemi engines and transmissions scattered all over the floor and his walls in the garage were full of hemi valve covers and oil pans that he had been collecting. I think he had 2 B Body Dana rears laying under one work bench. I still gotta go back for the parts car, he had hernia surgery a couple weeks ago so I haven't bothered him about parts.... I might have been tempted to wave some $$$ at that loader for that Vette or that 68 flattop wagon. I did that at a local yard on a 67 loaded Tornado that was the next to bottom car in a stack of five just about ready to go into the crusher. Offered him $200 for the complete 425 if it will spin. It did, and I got it. As long as they get the hulk back, some of the smaller polaces listen to $$$. I missed a 66 SS396 4 speed car that was in the stack already flattened down. Manual steering box was visible and still intact, so got that for $20. 5 minutes with the gas hatchet. Not my favorite Vette, but very surprising it was going into the crusher. Not that bad. |

Chris, I just don't think that photo is real. I know the car is hurt, but the hood is up, it's got a good 8" rally wheel on it, it doesn't even appear to be resting on the forks of the loader and it just seems to be a different quality photo than the rest of the scene. It’s a fiberglass body.......how much is it worth in scrap metal? Like I said, I know they're crazy, but that dumb????? OR there's another theory......... Guido and Frankie paid to have the car disappear in a hurry....
|

Vern, that pic is real. I blew it up to 200%, and what you see are the rocker panel trim pieces on the forks, giving the illusion of it resting higher than it should. With the hood up and the windshield smashed, I'm guessing that the motor is gone, and that year of 'vette is not worth the price of restoration, or stripping out for parts. Sad sight to see, though.

From what I have seen in these photos from the recycling yard, someone could have made a few thousand bucks on parts and a few of the cars. Seems to me that some common sense could be used by owners of these places and put some out front for sale or set some aside to give time for the parts to be pulled. I wonder how many rare steering wheels and bucket seats have been smashed that were in perfect shape. hard to find glass, wheels and even speed parts still under the hood of these cars is just being wasted. I would have saved those slots on the ventura. Lots of Nova parts on those cars. Tommy

Jrn101, I like your pics alot too. It's hard to save em all. I live in a subdivision and have to be careful what I bring home and have to be quick about stripping them... The pics are awesome though. Lots of the ones I see and get a pic of are destined for the crusher too. All the ones I submitted last week are about 15 minutes from a recycling center.... It's just a matter of time... I was talking to some guys in the area last week at a body shop and they were telling me that the thieves in the area are pulling wire from the center pivots in the fields and taking them to scrap as well as pulling it all out of grain bins. It is costing farmers thousands to replace it. At the junkyard last week the owner was telling me that thieves sneak in at night and steal his catalytic converters.... I can't stand a thief. As time goes on however, anything that isn't running or being watched closely will be hauled in for scrap... It's best to photograph the ones that can't be saved. Keep posting them, sometimes it's better than a sad country song... "dog died, wife left with best friend.... car got crushed... Sure miss the car and dog".... ![]() Tommy

I have watched my great Uncles do that several times. They torch the front end and sometimes the mounts and secure a HUGE logging chain to the engine and take off in the truck and when the chain reaches the end.... out comes engine and trans. Load em up and scrap em. I watched them do it to a pristine falcon pickup truck once. They jerked the engine/trans and part of the cap off the car. Chain was about 80 ft long . Fun to watch .Tommy

Back in the late sixties we would pick up old cars and bring them to the junkyard in Jamaica (Queens) . You got $13 if it had a battery, starter, generator and radiator. It did not matter what else was or wasn't in the car. They would climb on top of the car, whack a hole in the roof with an axe and hook it with a crane. It would be hoisted about three feet and the wheels came off with a T wrench. With the car about six feet off the ground they would torch the engine and trans mounts and cut the drive shaft. A bounce or two with the crane and the whole mess would fall out. The car would be hoisted about ten feet away and another whack with the axe would drain the gas tank. Then up on the pile it went, total time five minutes. Everything drained on the ground and it was like quicksand walking through it. I never saw a fire, a car land on anyones head or anyone from the EPA! I'm sure the location should have been a Superfund site by the nineties! |

Jason Love your shots and appreciate the time you take to post them. Its amazing I don't know what it is but something about looking at this old iron brings out memories and feelings I can't explain. I guess its knowing how these cars started out and seeing how they have wound up - they are like old friends who need help! Hope you can find the rest, would love to see them. |

It worked sporadically for me also - here are the shots - - Watterson Collection origin On Nov. 17, Brewer Auction Service conducted the absolute auction of the George Watterson Collection in Mitchell. The sale consisted of approximately 270 vehicles, vintage farm tractors, a handful of motorcycles and various parts. At least that’s what was offered on the auction’s sale bill. What eventually was auctioned by day’s end may take several more week’s work to uncover and add to the final inventory list of just what all Watterson squirreled away over the past few decades. What can never be fully answered after it’s all accounted for is why the late Watterson hoarded this amazing collection of automotive treasure, worked hard to preserve most of it in hand-crafted buildings and then eventually neglected it to the point of allowing these buildings to collapse and bury everything stored inside. From speaking to several of the enthusiasts and locals in attendance at the auction, the back story to how at least a portion of this collection was amassed goes something like this: Up until approximately 10 years ago, Mitchell was the location of the famous Carpenter bus works that supplied the country with school buses since 1923. Reportedly, Watterson, for some undetermined amount of time, delivered finished buses to various locations around the country. To return from these one-way bus-delivery assignments, Watterson would purchase a vehicle in that location to drive back to Mitchell. These return-trip vehicles would then be driven into Watterson’s wooded property and parked. Several Indiana residents attending the auction also told the same story: That when they approached Watterson over the years to purchase something from the woods, the answer was either ‘No’ or the price to purchase quoted them was so ridiculously high it was Watterson’s back-door way of saying, ‘Hit the bricks.’ Most of the approximately 270 cars, trucks, tractors and motorcycles offered in this auction were in rough shape. A common plea overheard was: ‘If only I could have gotten this car years ago when it was still restorable.’ Most of the remainder of comments overheard were directed at the late owner of the collection, George Watterson, and can be summed up thusly: ‘If only he wasn’t such a pack rat’ (or substitute hoarder or other foul variants of selfishness that won’t be repeated here). - - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - |

There was what I assume a 69 H/O in a local junkyard years ago in SW Ohio...east of Cincinnati. Long since scrapped 16 years ago. It was pretty thrashed, but I did look for the VIN and the TRIM TAG on the car and they were long gone. The faded spot on the deck lid where the H/O trim looked like it had been missing a long time as well. Never did get a picture. |

I just went to look at a 71 firebird original owner car that has 50k miles that was parked in a barn in 1979, the guy told me there was two vettes in the barn that were parked there in 1976, I was suprised to see what they actually were when I got there, 1st car is a 1961 black on black 4 speed 283, the owner says him and his wife street raced this car in the 70s and the engine went south and he never repaired it. second car is a 1963 split window silver with blue interior 300hp 4 speed, this car was driven by his wife for years until the clutch gave way and was parked in 76 and there it sits, that car is very complete but the mice have had a hayday let me tell you, they both have bean bumped with the lawn mower a few times over the years but very neet and painfull to see, I am going to keep contact with the owner and see if they can be saved, I did but the firebird that was actually there sister in laws car since new, the mice also enjoyed that car also, you can see the stains running down the sides of the cars from the trash piled on top of them that was full of mice nests and moisture (very sad). I will post some more photo's later Rich

'59 & '60 Corvettes looked exactly the same on the outside. I am basing my guess on the fact there is no grab bar on the passenger side. The grab bar came out in 1960. |

I have some really nice pics of two cars rotting away and the owner will not sell; but he likes to see them rot away while he drinks his life away with Pabst Blue ribbon. Last winter, I was up in PA picking up a rare 69 GTO column shift parts car. I'm always on the prowl like you guys and low and behold while driving past a dumpy old house with a boat load of junk cars in the front, yard I see the front end of what appears to be a Torino. So I stop and look around. I walk up to the front door, and hear a bunch of zoo noises coming from the house; at least 30 dogs and cats were peering out at me through the windows, and beer cans were everywhere like a mine field!!! No one answers the door, but a li'l old lady next door peeps her head out the screen door and says are you here asking about the cars? Well, as you can imagine, I was not the first to enquire. I said yes, and she said I can give you a number to the owner's daughter. The owner was an old recluse who was drunk on his butt every day. I call his daughter and told her I would give her $45K for both cars. She was surprised and said at least you haven't low balled me on the price! She said the cars were not for sale and that they would be towed away next summer. Well, the cars are still there. The first car is a Blue 68 Shelby 4 speed unmolested and the second car is a rare 70 (I think) Torino 428 Cobra Jet convertible with a tree that grew through the trunk!!! The first pic depicts the mound of beer cans (five feet in diameter) and a few feet high in some places. Thanks for a very interesting web site and happy hoidays to you and your families. The old guy who owns it is a recluse!!! He just drinks his life away. Both of his doors to his shack were cluttered with empty beer cans! A client of mine told me to offer him 45K for Shelby, and the daughter turned us down. The car is worth maybe 125K restored, so 45K was a good price for them for that car. It was unmolested, so we went high on the car. A real shame, because the car gets more rot every year it sits! The Torino CV is a very rare car in deed. The drivetrain was intact! |

283 with 3 on the tree. Supposedly correct drive train. he added the HEI last time they started it. I thought the pictures of the trim tag would come out better.... I can't read part of it either. Chris, I am considering it for Dad. I haven't made up my mind though. Tommy ![]()

not seats from a 65, or a chevelle, maybe 67 GTO or later ![]() looks like it needs a bit of work and those AC vents too. It should have the bench seat, (just like the one I threw out last year) ![]() ![]() If you can drive it away, bring cash and offer 75% of that price you said. |

I know this next one is a little crazy (of me) but, this might be the next one I do up? The only reason for that would be the 1970 early production code 09C and the fact that it has a trm 735 and PNT 28 25. I have never seen a Nova done up like that. |

that one has been there awhile |

HA HA The last time it was inspected was 1986 and I think the tree tells that tale! |

If you do Jed, you gotta cut a round from the tree to display with the car and that pic. |

It would make one hell of a great story wouldn't it? Ambitous kid saves Rotting Muscle Car, but kills tree in process... Ah, I would just take the subframe off. |
