Pavillions pics 111409

I went up to Pavillions later in the day today...I had to punish myself by watching part of the thrashing (I'm being polite here)of USC by Stanford. USC shouldn't be ranked...and it should be fun to watch how the PAC10 plays out this year...

Plus, I just had some more skin cancers removed on Tuesday and Wednesday (48 inside stitches and 50+ outside stitches on my right temple...(If you want to get grossed out I can post a pic )

Anyways, I went up and met up with Bart Rome and his buddy and talked with them for a bit. I saw Bob A. and Stan F and hawaiian shirt Fred ...then took a few pics before it got too dark!

So, without further ado...

Ward Gappa's Pace car Camaro

I see you Stan! (to the right in the pic)

Everyone knows that's a DeTomasso Mangusta, come on!
I believe they were 351 Ford powered.

a lot of the cars you pictured were at the Town Of Paradise Valley show earlier in the day (except for the Alfa with the Ford engine).

I spoke at length to the owner of the Buick pictured above (Jim ???, forgot his last name) at the PV show. That car is the BEST unrestored, ORIGINAL car I have ever seen. AMAZING condition. 3 on the tree manual trans with NO power anything, no power steering!!! No power brakes. I think the radio is the only option (it may have been a standard feature for that car).

That car is as nice as it was when it rolled off the assembly line 50 + years ago.

Thanks again for your coverage, it is good to see them in review the day after.

since you have so many stitches on your temple, obviously its not on your "squint" side when taking pictures otherwise that could be quite uncomfortable. THANKS for toughing it out on a day when USC got trounced !!!!!!!!!! maybe Jim Harbaugh can take over for Charlie Weis since he knows how to beat USC !! GO IRISH !! maybe next year..

time to get ready for

I think the DeTomaso Mangusta ("Mongoose") was powered by the 302, and the Pantera ("Panther") was powered by the 351.

Re: Pavillions pics 111409

I remember that - Musclecar Nationals 1988? I was wondering why everyone who looked at my car turned their heads to the side when they were looking in the passenger window. It only took 8 hours but I finaly figured out it was because I had taped the 2 page window sticker upside down in the window. I never noticed it til the end of the day! Ran a 13.87 though - pretty good for a 4500 lb hemicar.
