Hey Colin I want to take issue with part of your article. In your article you mention These buyers dont want the slant 6version they want the best examples, the six pack, the Hemis the LS6Cars.Their dream cars have driven the market Sheenham grew up in Canada and has a different view. I grew up in the us us were we wanted to be a cool guy in the muscle car." Well let me tell you pal I dont know Sheenham and he does not represent 99.9999 percent of Canadian car guys. All of us have the same opinion as you have maybe even a little more forcefull. We love the pure muscle car and could not give a fiddlers F-- for the Monaco crowd. Just to set the record straight no offence ment. PJ
PJ,
My article was printed as a rebuttal to an article by Sheehan, directed at his comments and not a blanket statements on Canadian car guys. Sheehan grew up the son of a newspaper editor apparently isolated from real cars and thumbs his nose at good old USA muscle cars. Of course, this doesn't stop him from trying to capitalize on the market as he just sold a 65 Shelby GT350 last week.
I don't take any offense to your comments, just think you misunderstood the intent of the article. If you didn't read Sheehan's article I can see how that would happen. I will say the "well let me tell you pal" line may come off as offensive to some, but I have thick skin
Hope this clears it up for you. Sorry for any confusion. I know there are guys in Canada that take muscle cars as seriously as some of us do!

------Colin,,,So many questions-so little typing ability. Ill start by asking if that is Carl Strohms old 65 396 Vette??? Sure looks like it and it was in your area (roughly). I can see it in your revolving collection as it is your type of car. Extermely clean and original everywhere........Bill S
Hey Bill, Yes, it was Carl's car in the late-70's - early-80's as I recall. Killer untouched car, most original 396 car I have ever seen. Factory 4.56 gear 425 HP car with window sticker, POP, etc. Original exhaust and shocks still on the car. You are about the 3rd guy who has caught a glimpse of it and immediately known the car!
And Bud, yes, it crosses my mind every day to lock the door and hermetically seal the joint for a decade or so. But I'd sure miss driving my cars and tinkering on them. What can I say, I am addicted.

------Thanks for the quick reply, Colin. Sadly, Carl is no longer with us but he was a real gearhead, a very good friend and one of the founding members along with me of the "Outlaw Racers". He even had Ligenfelter build a 454 for his old Suburban tow vehicle. His wife who has remarried still has Corvettes of his and they are similarly nice if not nicer. His 66 425 convert is a whopper, and it was Carl that dug up that black/maroon leather 5000 mile 65 fuelie roadster that Vance S sold along with the rest of his cars at Danas last year. We called Carls garage the "roach motel" as cars that went in never seemed to come out!!!.........Bill S

I saw that '65 396 a few years ago, Tom Hinz took me to a place that had it stored with some other cars. It was a very nice car.
