Well - I've started a thread to follow the restoration process on my latest project. The prior history of this car is on this site under "copo on ebay". As I was disassembling the car today I ran into a couple of things that I haven't seen before. Maybe someone out there could give me some insight. First, the interior heater box has an orange "30" marked on it - any significance? Second - when I removed the funky old brown plush carpet (very 60s) from the package tray cover, I found that the original package tray cover (still under the funky piece of carpet) has factory speaker holes in it. I've attached photos. Does this just look like AM rear speakers, AM/FM, or can't tell for sure? The car did have aftermarket Jensen speaker covers attached to the funky brown carpet - no sign of any speakers though. If anyone has any input, please feel free to post. Thanks, bruce

Just a thought on the red 30, maybe a build sequence # for that car that day 
Also, when you get the front fender extensions off, look for something like this under the crud, that's if they are the originals.

I removed the fenders and there was no marking inside of the fender extension. They look original, but no marking. This is an 05E car - maybe they didn't mark them all? I've attached a photo of the original firewall piercings showing RS hole. I would say that the car came with two rear speakers. I've had several '69 Camaros, but never anything but an AM radio with front speaker only. Does anyone know if an AM radio could be ordered with dual rea speakers, or would duals be for a stereo application? Also, the "30" on the heater box does tie out to the last 2 of the VIN. Could be coincidence, but somehow they had to flag the BB heater core on the X-11 code car. Regards, Bruce

OK - the car is pretty well disassembled. I took tons of photos if anyone needs any particular ones let me know. Some neat pics of the routing of the liquid tire chain hoses, etc. I've rolled the car into a corner of the garage - now the hunt for parts begins! I've gotten some great leads on the original drive train components - please keep your ears to the ground and pass on any info that you run into. I'm a collector and have only sold one of my collector cars in the past 25 years - so I'm not looking to make a quick buck on this car. I love these supercars and I enjoy restoring them to their former glory! Regards, Bruce

Bruce, I bought my car ten years ago and I still haven`t started restoring it. You got yours only weeks ago and is already on it.
It will be interesting to read about your restoration. Keep us posted !

I parted out a 69 years ago and it had the dual rear speaker package tray and AM/FM stereo. I have never seen an AM with dual rear speakers (unless it was also ordered with an 8-track, in which case it would also have the two kick panel speakers in front).
Again, great car!
