Eric,
I have a 4554, GM 3972122 (NA9).
Heres the question....
It needs to be restored. I will not need it for a couple of years at least, thats how far off my restore is from starting. Can I restore it and store it or will this create gasket issues etc.??? I'm concerned about the availability of parts down the road if I wait too long. Are there issues with the NA9 as far as parts???
Thanks

Carl;
As long as it's kept in proper storage, there shouldn't be any issues with gasket degredation or anything like that. Just be sure to keep it away from excessive heat, and above all, dust, dirt, humidity and anywhere bugs/insects could get inside. Excessive handling will eventually degrade the exterior finish of the carb from the oils in your skin as well.
As far as parts availability for that carb, as long as it has the correct metering blocks and the vented primary bowl on it, I can't forsee any parts availability issues.

Thanks Eric,
The metering blocks are the correct # and I assume the bowl is correct. Ill dig it out and look at it tonight.

I don't Chuck, I also need the 7028024 canister!!!
I am on Flowjoe's list for one of the plates he's building when he gets them done.
If you run across one let me know.

By the way Chuck you left the "Z" out of your link ...Interesting, you might want to fix it

Carl, Not sure how to edit my previous post, as it seems like you only have so much time to do so.........
Anyway glad your involved with the thread at www.nastyz28.com on the NA-9 plate. All those disgarded NA-9 parts are very difficult to find.
Curious if youre car has or had a hood insulation pad when new. I just sold one to Ron L in rural Pittsburgh area. He has std interior 70 Z that he claims had pad from factory,
His car will be in Pitt,PA World of Wheels show this weekend. Hope to see his pics soon thereafter.....

Chuck, I Wouldn't mind having the insulation!!!! It appears at one time it did. We based this on the wear pattern on the stickers on the top panel over the radiator.
Eric, Does this look good.

That's the correct bowl, looks like a great core to work with.

President Obama needs your tax refund for bail out money for the bank execs, it appears they are going to Vegas for a meeting.
