Tony...try this...Make sure that your date is set correctly on your date and time properties (Double click on the clock in the lower right hand corner). My wife occasionally changes ours(for what reason...I don't know )
Anyways...my computer did the exact same thing until I figured out that the date was wrong...
And...It took me two days to figure it out

Come on Bruce, it's step 7 up above! LOL!!
But, you'd be surprised how often this happens...and how/why is beyond me. Asd a matter of fact, it happened to me a month or so ago...

It's still doing the same thing. I shut the Norton off, checked the date and time again, looked for anything different, and it just don't want to work. This is very aggrevating!

Well. I guess I have it "fixed".I took my clenched right fist and smashed the keys 3 or 4 times, slammed the cover shut, sanded on a trunk lid until the compressor was out of air, took the pup for a walk in the woods, came back in the shop and opened the lid on the computer. I was still logged on, which shocked me. It seems to be working, so mabey all the swearing and violent pounding showed this thing who's boss! Thanks for all the help.

Tony: I'm still stumped...I'll keep thinking on it, but if you happen to figure out what the hang up was, would you mind letting me know so I can add it to my check list?

Glad to hear I'm not the ONLY one who's tried that 'FIX'!

Rob...I don't know what fixed it. I shut down the Norton stuff 1 at a time. That didn't do anything, so I shut it down completly. I then shut down the Webroot Spy Sweeper, which didn't work either. After I turned them both back on, it seems to be working.
