Eric,
I have a .030 over 454, cleaned up 820 oval ports, .095 dome forged pistons, approx 9.1, small isky solid cam. 228*@ .050, .520 lift, 108*lsa, dart dual plane intake, 2" headers, richmond 4 speed (2.43 1st gear) 3.73 rear in a 72 Nova. I have a 750 cfm quick fuel 750 pro vac. sec, dual feed but was also considering a 4779 /750 I have which needs redone or, a freshened 4780 /800. Which carb would work better for me? It is 98% street/light strip use. Thank You

John;
I am a big proponent of vacuum secondary carbs on the street, even with fairly hot engines and 4-speeds, so I would probably lean towards the Quick Fuel 750 v.s. carb. I'm not familiar with how Quick Fuel sets their carbs up, but I'm sure it should be fine for you.
As far as the double pumpers go, either would also work and I doubt you'd ever see any performance difference between the two unless you're looking for every last .001 at the track.
(On a side-note: I'd re-think those 2" headers if that's an option for you. On a build as mild as yours, a 1 3/4" would likely pick up notable low end and midrange power & response. Seen that play out more times than I can remember)

Thank You Eric. Think I'll stick with the vac sec carb. Here's some info on it that came with the Quick Fuel carb: "Down leg, Stepped Booster Secondary Jet Extensions Dual Feed Fuel Inlet Secondary Metering Block Electric Choke Notched Secondary Float Welded Throttle Lever Non-Stick Gaskets Built with significant new parts upgrades" It's a holley main body with new billet float bowls, clear sight plugs, and I believe, adjustable secondaries. I couldn't pass it up for the price.
I need to stick with the 2" headers now for budget reasons. Hopefully, they'll only kill enough torque so I can hook the little tires. If it doesn't seem really snappy, I will change them later on.
I really appreciate your advice. Thank You. John

John;
Glad to help.
One last thing--get rid of those clear sight plugs, they're a disaster waiting to happen. I've seen more melted plastic sight plugs than I can count! Pump gas just eats them up. Set your float levels and install a pair of brass sight plugs.
