Nice one to start with. Good color too! I would like to see the "in process" pictures as you go along if possible.

I like it. Z-28's are rare cars in 1972 because of the strike. Something like only 2,800 cars, making them the second rarest Z's after '67's. Last of the M-22's, last of the solid lifters and LT-1's.......they are the last of a breed. Hydraulic lifter'ed L-82's followed in '73....just not the same.

How are you sure it has a M22 in it?

Looking at the underside I knew it was an LA car judging by the amount of undercoating. Nice car. About time you posted pics..

FYI all 71 and later Muncies had the drain plug ... they were all fine splined input shafts too
do not rely ONLY on the fact that it has a drain to determine what the trans is

Excellent car to play with!! I tend to be a little partial to that color combo on 2nd Gen Camaros myself (currently halfway plus through my silver 73 Z resto)....
Quick question for you guys:
In one of the pictures I believe I'm seeing what appears to be a GM parts tag (perhaps on a fenderwell?) with a little undercoating on it. Does that mean that whatever part this tag is on has been replaced at some point in it's life? Or has anyone ever seen a GM parts tag installed on an original unmolested car? Just curious......
