All ads MUST include the following:
price - ad must include price contact info - whether it be email or phone number
Also, I would GREATLY appreciate that ALL members of this bulletin board fill out their profile info with their real name, location, and contact info, but this is imperitive for those wanting to post in the for sale section!

So has the policy changed regarding ebay ads that members post? I see lots of them lately posted here by members that do not list a reserve or a buy it now price? I'm asking this because I am going to put some stuff on ebay soon and don't want to reveal the reserve if other members are no longer required to. Thanks in advance

Here are a couple. Most are ebay ads and then guys say the price is whatever because there is no reserve.

Those are both my ads. All my auctions are no reserve. If I need to post a price for each individual part I have listed on Ebay then I will stop giving members a heads up. I just feel it is a win/win situation. Members know the parts are available, my auctions may go higher, and if a member win the site gets a donation. Seems like a good deal to me. Others are posting each individual part they list on a separate ad which can get annoying. If there is a reserve I feel it should be posted due to the fact that the buyer should know at least how much it will take to buy the item.

I don't have a problem with no reserve auctions...the one's that I have noticed have had reserves, but I can't link to them now because the reserves have been met.

I would think the reason the moderators asked to put a price on an item in the first place is because it made the item immediately available at a given price and there was no bidding, time wasting ,or sellers using the forum to decide what thier parts were worth. My thought is if you have a no reserve auction and want to advertise it here, it should have a buy it now for the site, and once that price is met on ebay then it no longer would be available at that price. That eliminates the seller that lists a 5000.00 item, starts it at 5.00 and puts no reserve on it essentially trying to get memebers to "bid" or make offers behind the scenes anyway. Its done this way because it costs almost nothing to start an auction at 5.00 and not have a reserve[1.00 per hundred is 50.00 on a 5000.00 item] Then when the item is stuck at 1500.00 with a day to go the auction gets ended and we havent avoided the problem. ASnyone that has the guts to list a 5000.00 item on ebay for 5.00 and noi reserve is going to end the auction early unless the item is at 4500.00 or so with a day to go or has a fiend bid on it for security. If there is a seller here that would roll the dice on a 5K item and list it for 5.00 with no reserve and no "insurance plan" please step forward. I know id never play a game of chicken with you

In fact a few years ago I listed a nearly complete 69 ZL1 at $9.99 and no reserve. It was at $3000 until 2 hours before auction end. I let it go. In the last few minutes it went to $16,500. I'm a gamblng man but that Chicken game scares me. Chickens are not a very smart animal.
