If you're just looking to catch some runs at the track, most digital cameras will handle a 30 second to two minute video with fairly good resolution. For a true digital 'movie camera' we've had good luck with our JVC. Don't recall a model # but I'll try to remember to bring it this weekend so we can play a little.

You should get something that records directly to DVD's then...something like this:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...d=1202648528526 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8741114&st=camcorders&lp=14&type =product&cp=1&id=1202648528526)

Then all you have to do is copy the DVD in your computer...I would think? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif

I don't have one...so I don't really know...

I bought a Sony wide screen (not High Def) format video camera last year that records to a Hard drive in the camera... if I had to do it over I would buy a High Def one for sure...
They are not that much more expensive and they look a heluva lot better.

Forgot to mention that it is has one touch DVD recording... just put the camera on the charging base and hit the one touch button and it does everything for you.

I'll have mine; Rick and Annie will have theirs (I think), and I know Kwhizz will have his. We'll show you what they do and then you can decide what you need. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

The ones that record on a DVD are too sensitive to vibrations etc. Damn, there is one that records to a chip that is built especially for using in a car on a racetrack etc. Even sticks to the windshield etc. A guy told me about it because he loved his and I looked at them at the store at Infineon race track but can't remember the name. That is the one you need. I will try to track it down.
