Here's another unbelieveable collection located near Des Moines, Iowa. An all Chevrolet lineup from 1915-1975, over 120 cars. I'm told most are convertibles and represent every year of convertible production by Chevrolet. Owner is opening up the collection to the public for one afternoon in about a week for a charity cause and then a private showing in early September. Will get a chance to see on one or both ocassions and will certainly be hauling my camera along.

Thanks guys for the great photos. You could post the photos of those collections 10,000 times and it still wouldn't be enough. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

I was fortunate enough to be granted a private tour of Dennis Albaugh's car collection a couple of weeks ago here in Ankeny (Iowa) along with a friend of mine (Charlie - 5spdroc on this website). Below are only a FEW of the pictures I took. ALL OF HIS COLLECTION OF CHEVROLET CARS ARE CONVERTIBLES with the exception of one which was a 1934 as I remember and I was told that Chevy did not make a convertible that year. The website for his car show is http://www.thealbaughclassic.com/
I burned two c.d.'s of pic's and sent them to Cumby a week or so ago of these and he still hasn't looked at them. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Another unique thing about the Albaugh collection............if you notice..............all the cars carry a current license plate/registration and can be driven on the street. That expense alone (keeping all these vehicles licensed) must be staggering. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif
He's got some reeeeeally neat stuff.

GOREOUS, GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS! It never ceases to amaze me how many hidden treasure troves like this one exist, dotted around small towns in this country...

At the end of that newscast, they say he put these 120+ cars together in the last 6 YEARS? That's amazing, (and expensive).
And again.................the car show at his place (which is open for everyone to bring their car to) is this coming Saturday (08/09/08) and in addition, his car collection will be open to the public to view too.
