Are rear brake drums GM # 3996135 correct for a 70L78 Nova

Yes & No,as I would see that as a service replacement on your car.
The original drum put on it at the assembly line was #3841176.That was used up untill around 1973,when they changed the rear drum over to #3996135 for later assembled vehicles.
That #135 was also recommended on certain earlier built Camaro-Chevelles too.
