I was talking to a friend who is a tool & die maker working on the new Camaro production setup in Oshawa. He says that they are about ready to start running one or two cars down the assembly line. It would normally take a month or two to get up to full production speed. He also said that the top dog, big horsepower Z/28 has been cancelled. It figures. As if the guys buying the car would care about gas mileage.

After talking to a few people on the development team, I can assure you that plans for the Z/28 have not yet been finalized. Yes, there will be no Z/28 in the first two years but after that.....

After watching transformers last week my wife said she'd like a new Camaro. I will not buy one of those with an automatic and she is not interested in the third pedal operation.

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gifMy question; Has anyone made this conversion on their own wife, and if so how did you do it? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Strangely enough, the high horse SS (425 horse LS3) will only be available with a 6 speed stick and no fuel management system. GM has stated that the auto SS (400 horse L99) will be just as fast as the LS3 and will come with paddles so maybe that car would be a good comprimise for you and your wife. She can drive it by leaving it in gear and you can pretend you're a Formula 1 driver.... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

New Z-28 will be offered. The package will be simply delayed a bit. Look for a small hi rev motor. I will be delaying my order just a bit till that happens. Cannot wait. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
