They don't make the correct weatherstrips for 69 Chevelle, therefore I need a pair of nos roof rail weatherstrips. Thanks, Dustin

The NOS roof rail weatherstrips that are still around today are not the same as the originals anyway. They do not have a groove for the top of the glass to seat into. The repops are similar to what is available NOS. Expect to pay about $1000 for an NOS set, worth it in my opinion.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I am willing to spend $1000 for a set with the groove. I don't know why they can't make correct repro stuff. Dustin

cuz "you are the only one to ever complain about our product". http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

You would think these guys would figure it out someday and start making EXACT reproductions instead of just "close". They pay someone at a drafting table (now CAD) to draw up the specs, you would think it would take no more effort to do it right. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

In 14 years of searching NOS parts, I've only found one correct roof rail weatherstrip for 69 Chevelle. So, don't kill yourself trying to find one.

A gent on Team Chevelle last year found a vendor selling roll weatherstripping that is similar to the upper portion of the 69 Chevelle roof rail weatherstrip. I'll post a picture of it later today.

I have a set of old ones I bought them 20 years ago plus. I just found them in the attic of one of my buildings looking for parts for someone. The numbers raised are 5586 5587 perfect condition. I had removed them from the boxes and laid them out flat over 15 years ago. Call me at 302-420-4743 if interested . I had forgotten about them , I sold another set I had bought after them on e-bay back in dec of last year.

This is a cross section of what a gent from Team Chevelle found. I can put you in contact with him if you like.

There is an opportunity to have the vendor reproduce something closer to the original, but I won't have the time over the next 9 months to pursue that.

Dustin,

Check your pm's. Also, if you have a cross section of your original, can you post a picture of that, or send it to me and I'll post it.
