Love the stripes http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif Good luck with the sale. I can't imagine what it must be like to drive this beast. I can almost smell the racing fuel from here! (and it smells good!)

The know-it-all nimrods are out in full force with their comments on the eBay ad. . .

Christ, what's the deal with all the drama on the Q&A section of the auction?

For those who may not know, this is a Level 1 Supercar.

here is what I am getting out of this:

It seems like someone wants to know if the motor is original or not... might be typical Corvette guys flexing muscles.
But what I do not understand is if the car is a "level 1 supercar" (which I am not doubting) why doesn't the seller flat out say if its a restamp or not?
Its a beastly looking car, one that I would like to own, but shouldn't a "level 1 supercar" speak for itself?

It is really amazing the abuse that you take when you try to sell something special. Your doing the right thing by putting it all out in the open. I would list the ebay user name in your responses (as I have) and tell the person what
a idiot they are in your responses (as you are doing).

At least with ebay you can put things out in public. I tried to sell a BB VETTE with a NOM small block motor in it
on the Rochester Craigslist and I had a Woman tell me that she wanted to KILL me because I was being a scammer. True Story.

Best of luck with your sale, great car.

It is amazing just how wrong the self professed experts can be? Wrong Car, Wrong code and wrong dates. Trying to compare the dates and VIN of a regular 1969 Corvette to the L88 for sale http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Thanks for the Support http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

That can't be a level 1 survivor car! I saw it going down the dragstrip at St. Louis the beginning of the month!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Stefano,

At least you can have a few laughs at the expense of the know it alls http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif out there. This is the exact reason I quit messing with Corvettes. I have never proclaimed to know everything, but I do take my time and research things thoroughly before buying if it is something that needs to be researched. I feel that every day is a learning process for all of us and the day we stop learning, we are dead. I truly value the assistance that I have gotten from the helpful folks on this site and there are also some really nice Corvette guys out there too. The know it alls just have to ruin things for everyone just because they think they do just that, know it all. Most of them don't know half of what they think they know. The only recommendation I have is to have fun with them and don't let them get under your skin, which you have been doing a great job of so far. Good luck with the auction http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif. Looks like a great car http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif and is certainly a great opportunity for the "right" buyer IMHO.

It's all about the paperwork proving a car is a real L88. Of the 216 L88's built over the three year period, it's estimated around 10% have their born with drivetrains. Those cars will not be in this price range.

Just a quick question and I hope I don't sound like a smart ass? But what is with the buy it now price of 344,991? Does asking 345K for a level 1 supercar put it into a different category? Like Level 1.5 ? LOL

Wouldn't 344,990 buy the car or is that buy it now price firm at 344,991? Just seems like an unusual buy it now number? But not understanding the level 1 market perhaps I am not up to speed? Does ebay charge more at 345K?

Stefano is just trying to undercut his website listing, just to see who is paying attention. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

I was told by a wise man that if I'm not interested in buying something, why ask about the price. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif

I had a nice chat with George, who brought the car to the SCR, very cool guy with a long history of buying and selling high performance cars. He said that he'll be back next year. Wonder what he might show up with. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif

It is actually called the "Smart A$$ Pricing System." Thousands of people will look at it and say nothing. Then out of nowhere someone will just have to make a comment about it. That individual in now and forever identified as a very special person.

We place these individuals on a special List along with their info and send it to the Web Spammers and other companies who pay up for these special Individuals.

Congrats Les, You Win http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
