Oct 3,4,and 5th, the Musclecar Reunion and Nostalgia Drags at Kansas City Internaional Raceway. Last year they had close to 400 cars, this year should be incredible. I won't be running but I understand that a couple of SYC members are going to raise a little thunder!!! Oh yea, Big Daddy and a cast of characters will be in attendance.

Anyone close to KC this weekend, be sure and stop by and say HI. Howie and I, plus a couple of other cars from the Legends display will be making a couple of runs.
Sounds like Kim has just about got his car dialed in, and I have done a little tuning to Red, so should be a fun weekend.

I sure wanted to make it back there this year but things got in the way. Hopefully I can make it to KC AND Saint Louis next year.
All of you have enough fun for me also.

Talked to the old man earlier...for some reason, they're only letting them run the 1/8th? Anyway, "Red Alert" had a miss and was waaaay off for some reason...like a low-7 second ET, but I think Howie went like a 6.20 or something? Track is bad slick...

1/8th? What's up with that? You can only have 1/2 the fun!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
But then...the launch is what the people like to see the most, I guess. Besides, seeing Red Alert and the 70 Gibb/Harrell Camaro next to each other on the line is worth the price of admission! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just got in. Had a fun wekend, in spite of Howie. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
Not for sure why they wanted us to run the 1/8, but we did, Saturday afternoon. I ran and lost to a AMC Superstocker (Red developed a miss) and none of the other legends would run Howie, so he did a single. Saturday evening we decided to run with the NPCA guys, and as luck would have it, or not, depends on how you look at it, I drew Howie. Red ran better, with a fresh set of plugs, but did not matter, as Kim spanked me good, paying me back for St. Louis. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif
Sunday we ran with the NPCA guys again, my opponet broke out the first round, but we had to rerun because of a timing problem, the second time he put me on the trailer. On Kim's pass he cut a rear tire at the big end, which ended his day.

Nothing like a back tire going flat at 135 mph http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif So,....... were they afraid of the car,...............or had they heard about Howie? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Glad everyone had fun and came home safe. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
Yeah. I think he was sandbagging. He told me he had not raced it in 10-15 years, had just put a new head gasket on Thursday, brakes were sticking, never ran a pro-tree, yada, yada. Then he goes out and does a funnycar burnout past the starting line, trees me and beats me by a tad.
Brian is a cool guy, with a really cool Superstocker, from back in the day. The best part, when I stopped to check on him as he was working on the old dual point on the return road, he looked up and said "that was the most fun I have had with that car in 15+ years."

Worst part is I blew a tire on the way on the trailer. I had no jack. Stopped at Auto Zone bought a 12 ton bottle jack. I also blew one on the home from St. Louis seems to be coming a pattern. Too old for some of this. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Trailer tires can suck the fun out of a weekend real quick! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Do they make a trailer on tracks,........... or skids! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Kim, I use a car ramp to change trailer tires. No need for a jack. Works great and less work.

Being that KCIR was Dick Harrell's home track, Kim's car really generated a lot of interest. Folks were either wanting to give Kim a pic or magaine article of Dick and his car(s), or buy something from Kim.
