View Full Version : Ocean City MD Cruise

Just got back from Ocean City, MD enjoying their annual Endless Summer Cruise. Think of it as a mini-Woodward Ave. I would guess there were 800-900 cars in the lot at the end of the pier and probably that many here and there and on the move. I'd say almost half of the cars were of the "pro-street" type, but with that many cars, there were plenty of other varieties to enjoy. The main drag is about 5 miles long, straight as an arrow and 3 lanes wide on each side. Plenty of places to park on the sidelines to watch the action. You get to see a LOT of cars up close in the lot at the end of the pier then see them and HEAR them cruise by. I didn't see any idiots or any mischief (other than very short displays).
So, here's a small taste. Many of the evening cruise shots are blurred (sorry) but the shutter speed was long due to the light. Enjoy!
Dennis, I know I haven't been on the job in a while, but I hope I still can retain my "credentials".

This guy had photos of both the truck and car in "as found" condition in fields, all bent, twisted and in very bad shape. The finished result was awesome!

The '34 Ford & the truck belong to Earl Metzler. He's owned that '34 since his teen years and built it and the
truck all at home. He is an avid hot rodder who does some remarkable work!!

Wow, didn't know anyone from this board was going to be in OC! I was there Friday through Sunday without the Chevelle. I made the rounds to the Inlet and Harley Davidson. Ice Cream Castle was PACKED and never got to park there. Ended up at a place next to the Green Turte.
I took like 300 photos, still editing them. But you guys covered things pretty well without my pics.

We're already planning on being there next year, only then we won't be coming in a "Grapes of Wrath" packed Suburban. One buddy will be bringing either a '55 or a '64, the other a '59 348 Sedan Delivery, and I'll bring "something?" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif.
Like I said, it's like a mini-Woodward Ave. Except that the cars "move". You don't have to prepare your car by pulling it up to a concrete wall and let it idle for 30min without overheating before deciding to go............ http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif If you're sitting at the curb, you'll see more cars in an hour (avg 40mph) than at Woodward (avg 3mph). Less cars, but you see more. None stop.
