Looks fine to me. Lemans Blue 'UU' code was a 1/2 year color offered beginning in January, 1968.
Is there a particular reason you are questioning the tag?

Decode for body number: 082308
01D = Built the Fourth week of January.
68-12437 = Coupe.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
712 = Standard Black Bucket Seats.
U-U = Car Color is LeMans Blue
Sean, There is nothing on a 68 Trim Tag that will authenticate whether a Z/28 or not.

I found this car and I am not that good with Z'S. Car has original stickers, 6k tach etc. Did they come with any type of paper? build sheet? Appreciate the help.
Thnaks!

Does the car have it's original engine? This is the crown jewel in documenting a 1968Z/28.
Front Disc brakes, 4 piston caliper?
12 bolt?
15" tire pressure sticker in glove box?
TicTocTach? (tach/clock one unit)5700 orangeline,6000redline
Note, TicTocTach was an optional item.

Sean:
Since it's a late car (LeMans Blue) the power brake booster should be stamped 9078 on the tab looking at it from the firewall. Early cars were stamped 8515. If it has it's original booster, it's a very good sign and difficult to replicate or replace. FYI, Ed http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

In 1968 only the z had the EE front spring code.I own three very original 68 z/28s and it sound like the one you have in question is real.

The car is real. Original paint too.
I thought the axle might possibly be out of the car that donated the MO motor, but relooking at that, I think it's original.
