User ID private... I bet it was shill bid to that price. I bet $10,100 is the reserve and one bid is all it takes to win it. 10k for an iron intake is rediculus.... I don't care if Jesus owned it.

Just wish I had one, but of course I don't. If I did, I'd put it on right now for $4.95 with no reserve and find out how much they're really worth. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

That is too F'in much!!! $10K and still not meeting reserve??? Yes, it is a '69 Hurst/ Olds only piece. It was used as the pattern for the '70 W-30 and '71-'72 W-30 aluminium intake. As far as price, I do not know what should be, but right now the 'D' heads are running about $6K. Upwards of $16 K for a topend of '69 H/O. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif Finding the big weight distributor is a fun hunt. Fortunately, the carb numbers are the same as any big car 455 for '69.

I understand it is Joe at the Parts Place. He is doing his part to clutter the Olds community with clone parts!! I am guessing a shill bidder for the piece. He has had ads for 'D' 'F' and 'H' heads that he will make if the interest is there!!! (For those of you scoring at home the 'D' heads came on 68-69 W-30 and H/O's, 'F' heads came on '70 W-30's, and 'H' heads came on '71 W-30's, the rarest of the rare in the Olds group!) With little documentation available on Olds (if you are lucky enough to find build sheets in your car, that is the only proof available) there are more W-30 and W-31 cars coming out than were ever built (sounds like the Z/28 thing!) If all you need are some engine parts to make your clone complete, clone parts will work fine. If you are needing the correct parts to complete your original car, you are now having to sort through the crap from the original. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif Buyer beware!!!

Check this auction out:

Isnt this parts place guy's other seller ID? and he is conveniently using the $11,000 intake sales price as a reason to sell this reproduction of the same intake at a bargain price.

Nope, no shill bidding on that one, nope, no, never no way. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

That is freakin rediculous http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Now when I get home I'm going to check the #s on the intake on the 425 in my '68. I know for a fact it's a '69 intake with the divorced choke and looks just like this ebay one.. Maybe I'm rich and don't even know it.. woo hoo http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Different vendor. the rocketscientist name is Chris. he had been advertising a lot of modified oarts in the past year. Changes casting codes and numbers on less desireable original parts. Dont know how he does it and dont care. We agreed to disagree a long time ago. Not a buyer friendly seller.

Pretty sure what makes this intake rare is the cast boss that holds the pressed-in metal nipple for the PCV hose/valve. In the other auction, it looks like a JB Weld sculpture...........?

Well I guess I didn't strike gold..... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif The intake on my car is "J 398662 '68-'69 400/455 4V All including W-30 and 68 H/O. Except Toro, 69 H/O. Iron" (from the Olds FAQ page) I searched the Olds FAQ and saw the difference with the ebay intake.. But $11,100???!! for an intake? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif I'm speachless.... I guess it's all about the #s..
