I'd sure be interested to learn how the seller made that air cleaner, as several others have tried with marginal success.
With a selling price of $3200, one has to think he'll build another ????????

The seller disclosed exactly what it is, so I don't know what the thumbs down are all about.... If bidders actually ran it up that high and the sale is legit, good for him, as he was very clear in what was being bid on.

After taking a look I'm not sure if he has used all original items for the base as stated. Would like to see this one up close. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif

Whoever this person is seems to be pretty much upfront to me in his discription. If you need a part like this and this person has a part you need and you are willing to pay.........makes everyone happy in my eyes! Not saying the buyer does not have more money than brains but that has been running rampant in this hobby for about 10 years now. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

There's a member here who has talked with the seller. For the most part, a good job,....... with some minor, yet very important issues which SHOULD hold the price down (IMO). He is very close to a good reproduction, but just not quite 'there'.

Looks good in the photos, If he has taken the time to create some Jigs and tools for this project It would make sense $$$ that he will be making some more. I wish him luck. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Joe - I concur on the full disclosure. I was taken back by the full original price. He is trying to recoup ALL of his RDT&E costs in one fell swoop (just like the pharmaceutical industry http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif !). But if there is a demand and he can get that price, good on him.

-----Sam,,,Correct me if Im wrong but all the seller did was put the air-cleaner up for sale. With one exception early on there were two bidders who wanted it. He did get development money back and Im sure he was happy but I dont see where he was trying to set a price other than his careful description.......Bill S

The original starting bid on this thing was $599.00.. Would have been interesting if there was a reserve set on it..
I have a friend that has a saying for people who are buying stuff at a price that someone would consider excessive or high for what it is.. That saying is "there is an a$$ for every seat." It's true if you think about it... Someone will buy it..... I know I have personally gotten carried away on E-bay and paid a little too much for some stuff. Luckily I was never ripped off and the stuff was what the seller said it was. Just my .02 again.......

I can really kick myself for letting the original one lay at Charlotte this past spring for $2500. It looked like it was taken off the car when it was brand new.

Frank, I could really kick you too http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
No I held $ 2500 in my hand to pay for it after Frank sent me that way and the guy wouldn't sell it. He was holding it for someone who spent well over an hour tring to determine if it was real !!!! Then the guy didn't pay him until Carlisle. !!!!!!
