We are proud to be offering 2010 Nickey Camaros, based on the 5th Generation Platform.

All of the details are not set in stone, at this time, as this is a work in progress.

However; We do have most of the details for the Stage I, Stage II and Stage III Conversion Packages dialed in.

We have established a Dealer Network, in order to fulfill Customer Orders, in one of two ways.

We have dealers who feel confident that they will promptly receive Camaro inventory for Stock; Method One, will be from off their showroom Floors.

These dealers will at some point, in the future have Nickey Camaros in stock and ready for delivery.

The second Method is that you will be able to place a SOLD order, through one of these Dealers and then have your car built to your specs, off the Nickey Option Sheets.

We will be anouncing all the participating Network Dealers and will also list the specs and pricing, as soon as we have them available.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. I will do my best to answer them.

Regards,

Xplantdad

George,
What we would like to do for the Stage III is a 700hp version of the new Corvette ZR1, LS9 Supercharged engine.

This will depend on the availability of components and/or complete assembly through GM Performance Parts.

We have been working with some LS engine specialists and have the parts and technology to get a very reliable naturally aspirated (race tested) 700hp. So, for now we are keeping both options open.

OK, I've been one of the most severe critics of the styling misques (my opinion) on the Gen 5. But with that in mind I will say I applaud what you're doing with the car. The red stripe tires and NICKEY exclusive wheels are (again; in my extremely humble opinion), a home run, and the performance options you're outlining are exactly what is needed. Being an old-school kind of guy (i.e. Dinosaur) I would cast a vote for the normally aspirated Stage III package; holding more true to the historical lineage of the NICKEY cars.

Congrats Stefano, and Best Wishes for a successful Launch! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

We are working with two Engine Builders, One here in the Midwest and One in California (Sound Familiar?) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

We Plan to Announce Both Builders and have an actual engine and some Dyno Sheets available at the Vette Fest.

Since we don't have an actual car to work with, as of yet, the Roll Cage Option is not yet developed.

I also would like to announce that Dennis Barker is the Sales Manager for the Nickey Camaros. He has filled his Dealerships allocation and will be referring any additional orders, to other Network Dealers.

So would a stage two have a LS7? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif That would be awesome with full exhaust and a cam. Another shop to consider would be Vengeance. They do awesome work for the LSX community. Several of my friends have had their cars built there and they definately know how to squeeze every bit of power out of the motors.

Stefano
11-09-2008, 08:43 PM
We are familiar with them and they seem to be a very competent builder.

The builders we will be using will have very strong and direct "Back in the Day" ties and are currently involved with leading edge technology in many current racing venues such as NASCAR. They have also been instrumental in the development of LS engine/technology and have worked directly with GM.

I'll Provide More Details but this is a summary.

Stage I: Mild Modifications to the Stock LS3

Stage II: Completely reworked LS3, (Stock V8 used in the Camaro).

Stage III: This is a complete new/different LS7 427ci transplant.

Since we are all part of the sYc family and some of the initial orders for Gen V Nickey Camaros have come directly from the Membership, I feel very honored to unveil more of the details, for the Nickey Camaro Project, here on the site.

As I type on the key board, the future of the "Big Three" Domestic Automobile MFGs is uncertain. Our business plan is very much tied, to the new 5th Generation Camaros. The best we can do is make plans based on what we believe, is most likely, to come to fruition.

We have chosen 'Wegner Motor Sports' in Wisconsin, to be the Lead Engineers and Builders of the Nickey Camaro Power Plants.

They have been intimately involved with many facets of Motorsports Racing as well as engine building, for more than 30 years. WMS was also instrumental in the design and development, of that which has ultimately evolved into, the LS engines. These engines are to be used in the Gen V SS Camaros.

We have been communicating with the Bill Thomas Family, who has shared their support for our Camaro project. We will keep you informed on their potential future involvement with the Nickey Camaro project.

Please stop by our Display, at the Chevy Vette Fest NEXT WEEKEND and meet the people behind the scenes, at Wegner Motor Sports.

Thanks.

Would you guys think of offering the GM Crate LS7? I would not be that far off of the original COPO idea of a manufacturer high performance engine.

I would think that makes a bit more sense than a 700hp, probably very expensive, engine..... just my 0.02!!

I will be keeping my eyes on this one. Been 20 years since i have owned a Camaro... might be time to get one!

Would anyone else be interested in buying a 2010 Nickey Camary with a 427 LS7??

I believed that the LS7 was what was planned for the SS Camaro. I have been told that it has been postponed or even cancelled completely. I guess we will find out eventually. The Camaro line workers were called back to work in early November. Production should be pretty well up to speed by now.

From Page one of this thread:

The LS7 has always been in consideration for the Nickey Super Camaro. It seems that we may also have some other GM options available, such as the Cadillac CTS-V or ZR1 Corvette engines too.

"I'll Provide More Details but this is a summary.

Stage I: Mild Modifications to the Stock LS3

Stage II: Completely reworked LS3, (Stock V8 used in the Camaro).

Stage III: This is a complete new/different LS7 427ci transplant."

More than 1/2 of the Current orders are for Stage III 427 ci LS7 based Nickey Super Camaros.

I thought the Stage III was going to be (from the 1st page of this thread):

"What we would like to do for the Stage III is a 700hp version of the new Corvette ZR1, LS9 Supercharged engine."

I am not looking for 700hp I would like to have the LS7 with 505hp in a 2010 Camaro. It would be very cool to have a 2010 Nickey Camaro with a 427.....

How Streetable will the Phase III be, and I read the 427 will be "Normally Aspirated" ? I take it the Fuel Injection is not capable of feeding that much HP. I just placed my order with Denny for the Blue w/red stripe. I plan on Phase II, but I have an LS7 crate motor just sitting here that I planned for my 58 vette, but what if I gave it to you for a possible Phase III ? Curious on your thoughts.

Stefano
02-02-2009, 04:28 AM
Things have been in a state of flux but are changing for the positive, on a very regular basis. What we were told would not be available just a few months ago is now scheduled to be available; An Example is the LS9 engine assembly/crate engine.

I know that I would like to have a 427ci LS7 in my own Nickey Camaro.

When I said naturally aspirated, I meant with no forced induction such as a blower or turbo etc.

All the Stages we have been working on are Electronically Fuel injected. The stock Fuel injection system and stock intake manifold need to be upgraded in order to get a streetable 700plus hp with a huge and linear torque curve.

This is one of the reasons Wegner Motor Sports has developed an exclusive Nickey Cam and Tunnel Ram type fuel injection intake.

We are very fortunate to be working with some great components from GM!

Jeff,
Thanks you for your order! You certainly picked a unique color combination.

Having 700hp is one thing but being able to use it is another. I don't want to release the torque figures just yet as they are staggering, to say the least. The power comes on very early and holds strong until redline.

We have both a professional Chassis builder/drag racer. (They have done some work on an OLD ZL1 Camaro dubbed "Its something Else" just to name one) as well as a Professional road racing shop called Team Stradalle, to help with designing the shocks/valving/spring rates etc. and making certain that the Nickey Super Camaro can get around corners safer and faster than the competition.

Also, I spoke with Dennis regarding your other special requests and I believe that we will be able to accommodate you.

The Body God
02-02-2009, 08:27 AM
Thanks, I will wait til I hear from Dennis on how those requests will work and we'll be in touch.

As Far as my unique color, Dennis and I talked this over on my Hot Rod Camaro, the red centers in the seats, red in the Hot Rod Emblems, red powder coated calipers and red bowtie in the grille, for me the red stripe tied that whole combo together. It was also the ONLY blue with red striped camaro ever built by Berger. I attached a picture of it on the other thread about color choices.

The nose in the cars you have pictured does not have the SS "Slot", the non-functioning, faux air scoop. Will you be special ordering your cars with the non-SS nose or are these just pre-production pics and the cars will have the "Slot"?

Personally I do not like the looks of the slot.

Stefano

We have several options to work with. One includes having a custom front Facia made up. Our Artist is working on putting our ideas on to paper.

The Stinger hoods will be an option so there might be no necessary changes to the front facia on non Stinger hood Nickey Super Camaros?

Right now our Stage III configurations; blower and/or Tunnel Rammed engines may require more clearance than the stock hood can provide.

We will also need a much stronger rear differential set up, in order to properly handle massive amounts of torque and hp, provided by the Stage III Nickey Camaro.

Many questions will be answered once we have an actual Camaro to work with.

No stinger hood or TT wheels?

Nice Stefano! You haven't wasted any time have you.

I think the stinger hoods are on the way but were not done in time for the show. The Camaro will look killer with that hood. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Building quality parts and components can take some time.

The Hoods and Wheels are in the works.

Suspension is ready to bolt in and test.

The First Stage III engine is also ready to go, but we are going to test Stage I and Stage II first.

It would be nice to have more than 1 Camaro available for testing.

Awesome. I can't wait to see the progression.

Will you buy and convert them? Or are you doing them for current owners that want the conversion?
